MSME financing is a $380 Bn opportunity as per the World Bank. However, less than 10% of MSMEs have access to working capital loans from FIs and a majority of MSMEs receive invoice credit from their suppliers. A trade platform like udaan is uniquely positioned to formalize & scale trade credit.

Udaan Capital is bridging this gap by offering credit products for buyers and seller on and off the udaan platform.

Job Responsibilities

- Deciding trade credit for Buyers & Sellers (Lending amount & period) by following a tech-first approach

- Responsible for a team of underwriters and completion of timely credit appraisals

- Partner with Tech team to build a tech-driven approach to Underwriting

- Adhering to strict TAT for underwriting files and maximize files processed

- Maintaining quality of underwriting as per SOP

- Recommending deviation cases to the higher level or approving authority as per delegation matrix

- Coordinating with vendor for Various External Verifications

KRAs of the role

- Maximize files processed To process a minimum of 5000 files per month

- Delinquency Management Maintain lower NPAs

- TAT Management Strict TAT to be maintained for underwriting files

- Managing Quality of Processing To maintain quality of underwriting adhering to SOP

- Vendor Management Coordinate with vendors for getting Various External Verifications

Functional Competencies

- Problem Solving: Resolution of overdue accounts by coordinating with sales team

- Technical Expertise: Operational intuition and depth across many areas in the field.

- Data driven/ analytical: Solve business problems by analyzing large volumes of data

- Team Management: Managing the team for prompt and quality credit processing. Effectively balancing competing people and process priorities.

- Stakeholder Management: Meet Customers to understand them better for better credit appraisal

- Cross Functional Integration: Coordinate with sales and operations team for efficient functioning of the entire process. Coordination with Operations team for due/ overdue PDD process

- Process and detail orientation High attention to detail with commitment to accuracy & process

- Result Orientation: Delivers non-linear impact by leveraging team / tools / knowledge

Candidate Profile

- Thorough understanding of SME Financing and Credit processes

- Must have minimum 7-10 years of work experience

- 2-3 Yrs in Underwriting Or 2-3 Yrs in Policy & Portfolio Management for Loan Products

- Min 2-3 Yrs of Work Ex on an Analytics Role ( could be a Sub Function)

- Hands on Experience on Managing a Team of Min 4 People

- Should have experience of working in Financial domain with BFSI/ NBFC/new age lending setups.

- Good at market intelligence, should be able to provide inputs & feedback for policy and process improvement

- Should possess good knowledge on regulatory reporting

- Should possess project management skills
