About the Role : - The Regional teams are core to making the magic that is Uber, a reality. The Head of Region West is one of the most demanding positions Uber has to offer. As the leader of Uber in the Region, the Head of Region West is responsible for the development and growth of our business in one of the major regions. - The right person will be a highly skilled, bold leader who is entrepreneurial in nature and has the drive to take the city to its full potential. You will continually focus on bringing Uber to more riders in your city while in parallel improving Uber's value-proposition to existing riders. - You will explore new avenues of growth by innovating on multiple low-cost and premium offerings for your riders. Given Uber remains a hyper-local business, an equally critical part of your job would be partnering with your cities and its key stakeholders. You- ll also be responsible for operational excellence and maintaining - Uber- quality throughout the rider's experience. What You'll Do : - Manage the operations within the West Region [Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and future launches in the region], collaborating closely with the Head of City Operations - India and aligning around the overall strategy - Lead a team of incredibly smart, passionate and diverse people - championing our culture and employee brand - Empower your teams to become part of the transport ecosystem in their cities - delivering on our mission and improving the ways cities work - Execute the non-scalable operational portions of strategy specific to Region West - for example, manage marketplace monitoring and compliance initiatives specific to a local territory - Be the external face of Uber in Region West- aligning with the Communications team on where and how to represent Uber at local events and with local PR; perform community advocacy through drivers, riders and local organizations - in partnership with Comm Ops - Ensure local regulatory compliance. Work in partnership with Policy and Communications teams for effective management of local regulatory concerns and local politics, closely aligned with the Regional strategy - Connect with other City Leads to help scale other markets through developing and sharing best practices - Work in partnership with Business Development to identify and help support relevant and value creating strategic partnerships and alliances for your Region West that align with the regional BD and partnerships strategy - Continue to grow and build upon today to drive a sustainable business for tomorrow What You'll Need : - 10+ years of consulting, investment banking, marketing or operations management experience - Data-driven decision mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking - Creative solutions driven mindset - Relevant experience in consumer service marketing is helpful - Stellar networking skills and the ability to make smart partnerships happen - Entrepreneurial DNA and fear tolerance of a honey-badger This is a role for a strong, analytical operator, focusing on driving operations and balancing supply and demand. You'll collaborate closely with the Head of City operations - IndiaSA to align around the overall strategy and innovate to extend the Uber presence in a relevant and thoughtful way. You'll be responsible for operational excellence and maintaining and continuously improving - Uber- quality throughout the Rider's experience and championing the needs of your market. This role requires excellent collaboration across different functional and specialised teams, and will be a key part of the Rides leadership team. We need leaders that are visionaries and can build, coach and inspire high performing teams to reach their potential.
