Deployment Capability Manager

Purpose of the role :

The key responsibility of this position is to manage the delivery of NPD projects from design approval stage to first market rollout while meeting the agreed time line, cost, productivity and quality objectives.

Responsibilities:

1. Developing new capability and technology platform: Based on the criteria for successful delivery and commercialization of projects, this role is responsible for developing new technology platforms, designing special purpose machines and validating the mix against the approved action standards.

2. Provide subject matter expertise in evaluating the technical feasibility of a design concept from the overall perspective of machinability, supply chain and commercial implications, reproduction consistency and productivity.

3. Building a ‘Cross functional community of practice’ for effective networking with various functions in gathering commitment and ensuring respective functional deliverables as per the project work plan.

4. Planning and defining capability requirement for ensuring project deliverables: Based on the available resource, supplier base, scale, productivity, logistic and target cost, the responsibility of this role is to develop capability matrix and propose for the business review and sign off.

5. Trials and tests : Validation of new materials, packaging formats and technology platforms by conducting machine trials, line and applicability trials , transit and handling trials , shelf life test and consumer interaction simulations. It will be important to create and manage an accountable engagement with other SMEs for successful design of the evaluation methodology and validation.

6. Developing tests, testing procedure and recommending equipment for validating the quality of materials, consistency and agility of new packaging formats and processes.

7. Play a pivotal role to continuously improve the organizational conversancy with newer trends, technology and materials appropriate for delivering premium and better value proposition through techno-commercial solutions.

Experience:

1. Experience of material and machine interaction and the modality in dealing with associated technical challenges.

2. Experience in designing and validating special purpose machines based on the defined objective of productivity, quality and consistency.

3. Should have worked in adjacency with a manufacturing setup to be able to interpret various functional biases, relevant complexity and practical implications of deploying new format or packaging materials.

4. Should have experience in the technology ambience of beverage, food or pharmacy industry where shelf life of the product has critical dependency on packaging materials and process.

Aptitude

1. Should have a bent of mind and aptitude to conceptualize the scope of automation framework and mechanization of various packaging operations.

2. Should be an active listener with good receptive cognition to appreciate other’s point of view while driving the proposed agenda.

3. Should be able to communicate effectively and explain logically the proposed work methodology for gathering cross functional commitment.

4. Must have the ability to work with conviction, be firm and thoughtful at the time of challenging the current practices and ways of working.

5. Should be able to demonstrate a deep personal accountability for great performance.
Work Experience:

- 5-7 years in Packaging development / deployment.

Professional Qualification:

- Post graduate diploma in Packaging Technology (2 Years full time course)

- BE / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering / B.Sc. in Food Technology

Reporting Relation

Immediate : AVP and Functional Head – NPD.

One Over : Deputy President – Global Marketing and Innovation.

Location - USL -H.O, (Bangalore.)

Traveling - Up to 40 % .
