Job Description:
Department/Function: Sales
Position/Title: Regional Sales Manager (RSM)
Reporting to: Managing Director
Job Purpose:
The RSM is expected to lead the Regional Sales & DB team in the region with a purpose to:
- Identify business development opportunities in the region and growth potential
- Plans/develops a business strategy for the region and Implements it with the team in alignment with the company's vision and core values.
- Ensures sales systems and processes are complied with
- Build capability in the sales team and focuses on leadership development within the sales force
- Ensures DBs are well supported in building and growing a profitable business
- New areas in the given geography are identified for Business penetration/ Development
Roles & Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning
Formulate strategies for growth and expansion of the region, through:
- New area development
- Effective penetration of mapped areas.
- Appointing new DBs and EMs in assigned territory
- Defining Sales Targets & KPIs for DBs
- Initiatives for leveraging our business opportunity and keeping CoC alive
- Having Business plan meetings with DBs
Execution:
- Driving key KPIs with team
- Manage a training calendar
- Regional events
- Steering key meetings - weekly regional meetings, monthly DB meetings
- Workshops for strengthening the Leadership base
- Closely coordinate with marketing resource for brand activities
Financial:
- Work with regional DMA in ensuring the financial and business health of the Distributors is excellent and analyze MIS relating to the region and DBs.
- DBs & EMs are profitable and adhering to the Company set processes and standards
People Management & Relationship:
- RSM is the head of the regional Sales team.
- Communicates effectively and accountable to ZSM
- SDM, ASDM and SDO will report to the RSM on the sales side.
- DMA will report into to the RSM with a dotted line reporting to the Finance Director. In matters relating to tax, legal cases and statutory compliances the RSM will take guidance of the Finance Head.
- Regional Marketing resource will functionally and administratively report to the Marketing Director. However he/she will plan his/her scheduled activities in coordination with the RSM and he/she is practically considered as a part of the regional structure working in close conjunction with the RSM.
Performance Management & Associates Development:
- RSM is responsible for a smooth functioning of the internal team by managing and measuring their work, while at the same time taking charge of their growth and talent development.
- Communicates effectively with team and keeps them motivated.
- Conducts periodic performance reviews and appraisals.
- Develops succession plan and growth path for team members.
- Mentors, guides and coaches team for success.
- Plan and Co-ordinates new hires orientation.
- Trains associates in team on all business training modules.
