Dynamics of the role :

TU Global Technology center is the global in-house center of Transunion based out of India. We are accountable for delivering and supporting service delivery and technology infrastructure services functions to Transunion teams based out US, Canada, Latam, Africa, APAC and India in an One Team global delivery model.

Position Description :

- Leading the Legal, Taxation, Company Secretarial and Audit liaison for the GIC

- Being a key member of the TU GTC finance team, providing valuable inputs in evaluating & deciding various compliance matters

- Supporting TU GTC Head of Finance in the area of Legal and Taxation

- Leading the compliance relating to ad-hoc or regular filing of various returns under any law applicable to TU GTC (i.e. Direct tax, Indirect tax, MCA, FEMA etc.)

- Ensuring timely & accurate remittance of TDS, Advance tax, GST etc.

- Creating a robust framework to ensure processes are put in place for timely and accurate reporting under regulations

- Representing the entity for any tax scrutiny/ claiming of refund etc.

- Ensuring compliance to meet the Statutory, Board, Audit Committee and Operational requirements of the Company

- Ensuring Accounting and close is in line with the transfer pricing requirements

- Filing the relevant forms with the authorities as may be required under any law (including annual return under the Companies Act)

- Understanding & ensuring compliance with TransUnion requirements relating to - US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)-, - Approval of Payments to Foreign Government Officials- policies, and - Quarterly Disclosures- Questionnaire

- Representing the Company for any Arbitration hearing

- Represent the company with Tax Authorities, Auditors, Lawyers, and any other forum as may be required

- Ensuring that all Commercial Taxes (ie; Income Tax, DDT, GST, etc) are paid properly and in time; with no loss of any benefits allowed under rules and complying with all the documents & returns related requirements

Filing of Monthly/ Quarterly and annual returns and/ or other compliance requirements for:

- Direct tax and Indirect taxes (like GST)

- MCA ( Ministry of Corporate Affairs)

- SEZ ( Special Economic Zone)

- FEMA/ RBI

- Any law as applicable to the entity

- Ensuring compliances as required under LLP Act

- Compliances for LLP in consultation with US Legal/ Compliance team (in addition to MCA)

- Review the legal contracts with Vendor/ Suppliers and work closely with the procurement team

- Ensure compliance to the entity's legal obligations for all areas

- Be a team player & work closely with Group Tax, Legal & Compliance teams

- Supporting Audit Committee w.r.t Related Party Transactions identification, recording, approvals and reviews

- Mitigating litigation risks of the Company by ensuring that the company is compliant to all laws

- Any other responsibilities that may be delegated by TU GTC Head of Finance from time to time

Required Skills/Qualifications :

- LLB / CA/ CS

- Experience 8 to 12 years Post qualification in the areas mentioned here, with a reputed medium / large Organization

- Liaison with Statutory & Income tax auditors

- Knowledge of GST, filing of returns, submission of refund claim application

- Have a thorough knowledge of tax and legal industry practices

- High level of integrity and strong empathy

- Have an attitude of compliance

- Knowledge of all tax and legal areas for compliance requirements of LLP

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- Ability to deal with and communicate clearly with International colleagues & external advisors

- Strong knowledge and experience in the area of law and taxation in SEZ environment
