Our client is a global leader in Ancillaries Industry. Our Client has been a leading global technology provider since 1907. The Client achieves this by combining hands-on experience in over 40 industries with our knowledge across the Client technology platforms: bearings and units, seals, mechatronics, services and lubrication systems. They are looking for Transportation Manager, based out of Pune office.
Description :
The incumbent will report to the Head - Logistics and Supply Chain and be responsible for:
- To set up transport and manages transport performances in region
- To act as reversed key account manager for transport suppliers
- To select and contacts transport suppliers in cooperation with TOC Manager.
- To follow up of transport performance and organizes review meetings with transport suppliers and Client's Sales Units.
- To select transport suppliers, negotiates rates and maintains contracts with transport suppliers operating out of Tongeren: taxi's, partload, and ad hoc shipments. Follows up of performances of these suppliers.
- To makes sure the local operations fit into the global structure as set by Group Transport.
- To be responsible for complaint handling for transport related issues.
- To participate in implementation projects for new transport suppliers or new external customers.
- To be responsible for organizing the Transport Cell work.
- To define and maintains the frame work for taxi's, partload, and ad hoc shipments in which customer service departments in Logistics can operate.
- To organise and maintains planning of all in/outgoing transports (road, air, sea) of Client's Logistics Services India.
- To coordinate transport planning with HUB and Warehouse activities.
- To follow up and maintains the achievement of transport related KPI's.
- To be responsible for staff hiring, training and development, including performance reviews and IDPs for all direct reports.
- To run their operations according to the Client's Code of Conduct, Environment Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality Policies, and work according to the Client's Quality Management System. If the operation is EHS certified, work according to the Client's EHS Management System.
Profile :
An ideal candidate will come with at least 7 years' experience, including 4-6 years in execution of diverse logistics activities with an MBA in Operations/Supply Chain from a good B-School. The person must exhibit strong commercial and contractual awareness and excellent negotiation skills. Strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills with staff, clients and vendors are essential, also experience with Sub-Contract with third party logistics players. Should have handled import and export market logistics and have a good awareness of the India Market.
