Analyst/ Senior Analyst - India Quality Controller

Main Purpose:
- This position is at the vanguard of the exchange of commodities we trade. The WSM team is critical to the compilation of data and the first to realize when an issue exists within the supply chain quality
- It is the WSM's team's duty to aide traders in identifying areas of risk, situations that are non-conforming with the commercial agreement or contract and when quality issues arise, they are expected to provide viable options to mitigate the risk for Trafigura. WSM must be comfortable and effective communicating with multiple levels of management within the organization and must be capable of using their experience to develop creative ways to solve problems in an extremely tight timeline for resolution.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills:
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years experience sampling/analyzing/reporting coal data
- 2 years experience working with multiple management levels within a global organization
- Chemical or Mine Engineer
Knowledge
- Intimate knowledge and understanding of sampling and testing of carbon and bulk products
- Communicating with internal and external stake holders
- Internal include the commercial team, traders and operations
- External include inspection agencies and producer and consumer customers
- Dispute resolution
- The ability to compile, organize and present data in a format for rapid assimilation by WSM & Commercial Team
- Proficiency in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to draw conclusions from analytical data and provide guidance to WSM, Commercial Team and management
- Identifying and valuing risks and measures to mitigate
Skills:
- Highly Organized
- Self-Starter
- Highly proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point)
- The ability to organize and evaluate large blocks of data and draw logical conclusions from the data based on experience, weather events, standards/methodologies
- Ability to travel at short notice to attend vessel loading or discharge of high profile shipments or evaluate issues in the supply chain
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, compile and evaluate quality data for the carbon products in the supply chain
- Organize and monitor sampling and analysis protocols and liaise directly with the inspection agencies
- Provide technical guidance on contract terms, blends, data sets and vessel settlements to the commercial team
- Develop and maintain relationships with the inspection agencies
- Review, critique and approve vendor invoices
- Other duties as required by Commercial Team and management
- Regular (daily) and close interaction with operations and commercial
