Main Purpose :

Focus mainly on the Analysis of the Business including review of the current business and investment made, covering a number of African countries and entities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

- Qualified accountant with 4-6 yrs experience in controlling and accounting linking business and finance.

- Experience in the Oil Downstream industry with understanding of financial stock management is a plus ( Average, FIFO, LIFO, etc. )

- Understand FX movements

- Demonstrable numeracy Skills

- Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information

- Microsoft Office proficient

Key Responsibilities : 

Business Analysis : 

- The Business Analyst is in charge to focus on all the analysis of all the elements of the business that are transcribed in the reports including :

- Analysis of volumes per business line per product and per clients - understand the trends and explain variance vs. budget, forecast and plan

- Analysis of the margin - understand margin structure in each price and is able to understand trends of the margin and any elements that can impact margins variance including Selling price, Cost of product and Inventory variation

- Analysis of the Fixed costs variance

- Analyze the rest of the elements of the EBITDA

- Is responsible to provide different analysis requested by the Business regarding the EBITDA evolution

- Is responsible to review the P&L provided by Reporting Analyst and challenge any other elements below EBITDA in relation with the controller

- Is responsible to review the forecast from a P&L perspective in relation with the controller & the Reporting Analyst.

Reporting Aspect : 

- Ensure the preparation of the Monthly Business Review for each country in relation with the controller and the Reporting Analyst.

- Ensure the preparation of the Quarterly Business Review for each country in relation with the controller and the Reporting Analyst.

Investment review : 

- Participate on the preparation of the Investment template for projects in relation with the controller

- Review post investment review analysis

Budget Process : 

- Ensure Budget process is followed based on guidelines

- Support the Business Analyst and the controller regarding the preparation of the budget and any variances with prior year

- Ensure Plan is loaded in all IT system used by the group

- Functional dotted reporting line into Africa specialist/SME
