Trading Finance has 2 main divisions – Securities Group(SG ) and Fixed Income, Currencies & Commodities (FICC), operating in all major trading locations.

In SG, the Cash business is a top rated full service broker including sales, sales trading, equities research and ECM / Syndication. Derivatives Delta One Trading includes the businesses equity derivatives, equities trading, arbitrage trading, corporate actions trading and synthetics activities.The business is supported by a stock borrow and loan desk that also provides services to external institutional clients.

In FICC, we have wide reaching coverage in many main market activities, namely Metals & Energy Capital, Agriculture, Credit trading, FX and Fixed Income, and Energy. The FICC Australia franchise holds an extremely strong brand, and this has been leveraged globally to create a highly successful and profitable business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The role involves the following responsibilities in relation to assigned business group with Macquarie:

Key responsibilities include:

- The successful candidate will be involved in the execution of key daily, weekly and monthly tasks (see below for example of these)

- Once a good working knowledge of the key tasks has been developed, it is expected that the candidate will develop improvements in terms of efficiency (speed of delivery) and presentation (to aid business review)

- You will be expected to regularly face off against members of the Trading Desks to resolve issues, support junior staff and also maintain positive client relationships

- You will also be expected to train and mentor new staff members

- You will be expected to take initiatives in developing new processes and maintain documentation of various processes and procedures up to date

- You will be required to continually question and attempt to improve the control environment that the Business operates in other ad hoc requirements from the business

- Daily, weekly and monthly tasks – the executive will be required to complete/review the following:

- Preparation and review of daily P&Ls (facilitation/sales/derivatives)

- Daily Capital requirement calculation – leading to review

- Month end Balance Sheet substantiation & review;

- Assistance in the preparation and review of monthly management packs for regional businesses

- Preparation and review of Annual financial statements of entities for which the team is responsible

Business Knowledge

- Experience in financial services and exposure to financial accounting and statutory reporting in a service industry environment preferred

Technical Specialist Skills

- Professional qualification CA/CPA/MBA In finance with experience in trading finance/product control.

- Questions current procedures and has a continuous improvement mindset

- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft office applications

- Preferable to have knowledge on PSGL and Micro strategy reporting tool.

- Postgraduate/ professional accounting qualification, preferably CA or CPA

- Minimum 5-9 years of post CA qualification experience or minimum 6-10 years of experience for non CAs (ie with an MBA or equivalent(.

- Background in product control or chartered environment with exposure to financial instruments an added advantage.

- Minimum 2 years previous leadership. management essential

- Willingness to travel overseas

- Willingness to work in different time zones to support clients
