Job Description - The candidate will have complete ownership where they will be expected to manage and develop the designated trade route in line with the budget expectations. They will also be expected to assist the sales team in acquiring new business and expand business with existing clients within the assigned territory.

The client is one of the leaders in the freight forwarding industry. They are into various solutions for logistics to match the needs of various import and exports companies. They provide solution-based selling of supply chain management and integration of major logistical needs of their clients. They are looking to hire for a Trade Lane Development Manager for their Africa Route who will be responsible for all business development as well as management activities within their assigned territory.
Description
Reporting to the General Manager Sales, the candidate will be responsible for:
- Supporting the managing and developing of the sales leads
- Developing the assigned territory and call on regular and prospective customers to solicit business
- Providing support and guidance to branch sales manpower within their respective areas
- Market analysis for strategic monitoring of the customers, trade lanes, products, competitors and subcontractors
- Developing new activities and products in terms of solutions to clients and coordinate the implementation
- Defining and implementing new approach of relationship and communication with clients and partners
- Traveling a minimum of 2-3 times per year to Africa for trade lane development
Profile
- 12+years of freight forwarding experience
- Graduation/ Masters Degree in Business Administration
- Knowledge of the Africa market and the network
- Knowledge of procurement
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel & MS office
- Experience of working independently
