Must Haves: LLB + CS degree

Job Profile: Job role seeks 80% of responsibilities into a Legal side and 20% into CS side.

Creation of contracts - aligned to Global VICE templates and best practices from BCCL and India

- Contract negotiation - All contract review and negotiation are done along with Digital JV and advise from the Board/ BCCL/ Vice Global

- Reviewing of Rights and Clearances (adhering to Global VICE Standards in addition to local)

- Self assessment guidelines for India Digital JV for

- Create a Legal SOP for ready reference in the context of Indian laws and best practices of media groups, for Editorial Team to empower them to self-regulate

- Periodic reviews of proposed content slates

- Support for dealing with any defamation notices and proceedings, as also any notices from any government agencies.

- To protect the Vice Brand(s) in India, the legal team will advise on the need to file Trademark applications,

- The International legal team to take a call on whether any specific legal steps need to be taken in India for copyright protection of any global formats or content.

- If India Digital JV creates content or any other IP in India, the legal team will advise on copyright protection. In case of any infringements on Digital JV IP, the legal team will handle the process against the offenders.
