About Times of India Brand Function - The Times of India Brand function ensures profitability and saliency of Times of India brand. The team is responsible for the following broad areas: - Product initiatives: The team manages all activities related to new product launches and expansion of existing products to new markets. - Strategic initiatives: The team keeps coming out with ideas for keeping the brand apace with dynamic reader aspirations. This team conducts Brand Health studies and conducts research to understand what the readers want so that the product is geared to maximize readership. - Marketing initiatives: These initiatives include thematic &amp; tactical communication for the brand encompassing various media. The team also conducts on ground activities related to overall brand activity to facilitate reader interactivity. - Brand Profitability: This team acts as a custodian of brand profitability of existing and new editions and is responsible for cost control, vigilance over Direct Variable Cost of Times of India. The team also recommends cost control measures when necessary. Position Summary - - Responsible for assisting Brand Director in developing and implementing TOI and Mirror brand strategy in line with the brand objectives, positioning, budgets and target audiences. - Plan, propose and implement edit and marketing campaigns / reader connect events; control marketing costs; monitor profitability; prepare and analyze relevant MIS reports; build a competent and motivated team with the objective of enhancing brand equity of TOI, Mirror in relevant markets at minimum costs. Reporting to: Brand Director Location: Mumbai Required - Education &amp; Experience: MBA with 14+ years marketing experience in sectors like FMCG / Media / Durables Skills / Knowledge / Expertise - People management skills / Negotiation Skills / Decision-making skills - Ability to analyse information - Creative skills to generate new ideas Key Responsibilities - 1. Marketing Planning - Plan, propose and implement edit and marketing campaigns/reader connect events on an ongoing basis in order to create buzz around the brand and enhance its equity - Participate in the annual business plan. - Develop the strategic marketing plan for the brands based on consumer and business understanding of building effective brand equity. - Identify growth opportunities in relation to new products based on market environment, company business priorities and sound consumer insights. - Monitor competitive activities, brand health, and brand share. Propose action to defend against competitive initiatives. - Act as a business manager for the assigned markets and identify opportunities to improve business performance on parameters like profitability and revenues - Control of Marketing Costs: Negotiate costs with suppliers; raise sponsorship monies; work out alliances in order to implement marketing activities at the least possible costs to the organization. - Generating and pushing for new idea generation in light of benchmarks like Lead India etc. 2. Communication - - Closely interacting with Editorial leadership (RMD / Response Group Heads for Ideation and planning of campaigns / formulate proposals which can be used by Response to raise sponsorships - Monitor execution progress and recommend corrective marketing actions as needed 3. Media &amp; Events - - Work closely with media agencies, radio, and outdoor partners to generate and execute plans to support activities to increase brand visibility by organizing events and brand promotions - Work closely with Advertising agencies for development of advertising campaigns and event management agencies to conceptualise and execute brand activities - Monitor execution of assigned projects and ensure prompt delivery in relation to overall marketing schedule - Monitoring and evaluating the quality of agencies and suppliers available. 4. Editorial Coordination -&nbsp; - Work closely with the editorial team to ensure that our product champions the brand values and to get maximum visibility for marketing activities. - Interacting with Editorial leadership (EE, RE) / Metro Editor for Ideation and implementation of campaigns and LPRS monitoring 5. People Development - - Set objectives for team members, review performance periodically, provide developmental feedback, identify competency gaps for current and future roles, drive fulfillment of required training, discuss and map career paths for key talent in order to ensure that team members have the competence and motivation to deliver targeted results
