TIH-IoT - Head - Business Development

TIH Foundation for IoT & IoE, IIT Bombay:

TIH-IoT has been set up at IIT Bombay under the National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems (NM ICPS), being implemented by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. TIH-IoT focuses on creating a self-sustaining innovation continuum by fostering interdisciplinary, collaborative, and translational research for technology & product development, building highly knowledgeable human resources, and creating a vibrant start-up ecosystem in the technology vertical of IoT. TIH-IoT offers funding support, technical mentoring, and research services in collaboration with academic, industry experts, and institutions primarily to nurture proofs of concept from research laboratories for commercialization by increasing their Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs).

Business Overview:

TIH IoT is developing smart products and technologies in IoT and IoE catering to various application domains like agriculture, healthcare, smart education, industrial IoT, and defence. In the agriculture domain products are in precision farming mainly monitoring of soil, weather, and crop parameters, crop health monitoring, AI-based app for the Decision Support System and advisories, mechanization and automation systems for agriculture.

In the healthcare domain products are mainly IoT-enabled smart healthcare devices for monitoring the patient's health, monitoring of the healthcare equipment, telemedicine solutions for rural/semi-urban areas etc. Industrial IoT refers to the use of IoT and AI-based systems for quality control using machine vision-based systems, asset monitoring, predictive and prescriptive maintenance systems. The domain of Smart Education considers the use of gamification products for school kids, video bots for course content delivery, translational products into the vernacular languages and AI-based products for query solving and evaluation.

Job Description:

- Establish, own and drive a revenue-driven business development strategy for Company's services, projects and products.

- Create impactful proposals by researching the market, documenting best practices, integrating specialized solutions, and conducting performance analysis for senior management.

- Develop and implement organizational business development and fundraising strategies and processes.

Build and support the development of impactful project proposals for CSR projects with corporates and donor organizations.

- Maintain and further develop TIH-IoT's brand image and visibility via all current channels, be it online, social, media, events etc.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

- Master's degree with minimum 7 years OR Bachelor's degree with minimum 9 years of relevant experience in Business, marketing or related field of study along with Business Development experience. A solutioning mindset for selling projects/products in Engineering/Manufacturing/Oil and Gas setup is highly desirable.

Required Expertise:

- Good interpersonal, facilitating, and influencing skills to engage a wide spectrum of external and internal stakeholders.

- Able to conceptualize, work independently, resourceful, numeric, and analytical with a hands-on disposition. Has an open mindset that is attuned to the evolving business needs and dynamism of the organization.

- Should have demonstratable capabilities on account management, lead generation and growth strategies from sales perspective.
