ThoughtFocus Information Technologies, in partnership with The Blackstone Group, is seeking a Legal and Compliance Consultant for the Blackstone Real Estate Legal and Compliance (- RE L&C- ) team at the Blackstone Centre of Excellence in Gurgaon.  Responsibilities:  The Compliance Consultant will be responsible for a variety of legal and compliance-related matters. More specifically, the Legal and Compliance Consultant will lead the following responsibilities:  - Execute testing and accurately document work performed to support conclusions reached including the identification of root causes for breaches of local law, regulation policy and/or internal control deficiencies.  - Perform testing as assigned in accordance with compliance testing program, including monthly, quarterly, and - as needed- testing tasks.  - Assist in the preparation and completion of an annual compliance risk assessment   - Communicate test results to management both verbally and through written reports in Excel, Word and PowerPoint by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.  - Escalate potential issues and exception items noted during the review process to management.  - Work with management to confirm the factual accuracy of issues and determine appropriate remediation to address issues.  - Maintain and update internal documents and compliance logs (e.g. compliance risk and control matrix).  - Organize and maintain the group's document depository system.  - Assist in preparation for audits including collection and review of submitted materials.  - Maintain current knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and Blackstone's policies and procedures.  - Promote compliance, application of internal operating controls, and adherence to Bank policies and procedures.  - Participate in Compliance team meetings as directed.   - Work efficiently to complete assigned tasks timely.  Requirements :  Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.  More specifically, the successful candidate must have:  - A Bachelor's degree; Law, Business or Finance preferred or a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Law, Business or Finance.  - A minimum of 3 - 6 years of experience in a regulatory, compliance or audit related position, preferably in investment advisory / financial services.  - Working knowledge and prior experience in financial and operational auditing, with the ability to construct well-targeted testing reports.  - Strong analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.   - Strong PC skills, including extensive experience with MS Excel and MS Powerpoint  The ability to :  - Work effectively both independently and as part of a team.   - Manage several assignments/reviews/projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.   - Learn quickly and adapt to change quickly and effectively.  - Strong attention to detail in all job functions and ability to use sound judgment in decision making.  - Nature of business requires the candidate to be flexible to work in designated shift hours.   Resume, including prior relevant work experience and graduation month/year and GPA, must be in PDF format  Firm Profile:   Thought Focus:  ThoughtFocus is a privately held IT services, software engineering and business process management firm with offices in the US, India and the Philippines.
