Regulatory Mapping and Compliance - AM / Manager
A Manager will be expected to:
- Be an experienced contributor responsible for working within the project scope and timelines.
- Understand US legal writing.
- Interpret statutes and regulations accurately, and satisfactorily answer the team's questions and doubts.
- Follow a step by step process of researching the issues and presenting the findings in the desired format.
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Understand overall client requirements to help develop project scope and drive internal discussions on resource requirements and creation of project plans.
- Manage large teams of people.
- Follow up with subordinates on the status of assignments.
- Resolve doubts of the team pertaining to work
- Ensure management of direct reportees.
- Ensure compliance with processes and controls of the team, drive the development of methods to improve processes and/or controls to ensure that these are efficient, effective and relevant.
- Be effective on the floor in terms of sharing learning/insights with peers/juniors/seniors.
- Resolve project specific issues effectively, and where necessary escalate the issues timely.
- Apply herself/himself to understanding the underlying issues of a project.
- Ensure process instructions are followed by the team consistently without failure.
- Ensure on time delivery on all client deliverables.
- Attend mandatory training and certification courses.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates applying for a Manager position must:
- Possess an excellent understanding of financial terms and concepts, coupled with in-depth knowledge of how the financial industry operates.
- Be capable of conducting research to understand the business of financial institutions and identify compliance areas applicable to these financial institutions.
- Have the ability to accurately interpret statutes and regulations and identify compliance obligations applicable to a financial institution.
- Have advanced research skills and know where to find the most up-to-date regulatory and statutory developments.
- Have excellent analytical skills.
- Be able to effectively communicate with the team.
- Be able to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders and build/maintain relationships.
- Ensure quality control processes are in place.
- Be able to resolve issues and escalate where necessary.
- Be able to cascade down all relevant information.
- Be responsible for ensuring project management and timely delivery of reports to the relevant stakeholders.
- Be responsible for quality checking and auditing the work done by subordinates.
- Be organized and efficient - capable of handling responsibility assigned to her/him quickly, efficiently, and accurately.
- Intelligently understands project metrics such as utilization, efficiency, gross margins etc.
- Be capable of working on multiple projects at a time and act as a project manager.

QUALIFICATION:
- Preferred law graduate.
EXPERIENCE:
- Working with financial industry or having in-depth knowledge of financial concepts.
- Extensive project management and people management experience.
- Substantial experience in interacting with clients.
- Conducting training.
- Performing quality checks and audits.
- Desirable: Experience in regulatory compliance related work; and/ or prior experience/knowledge how the financial industry operates especially. Knowledge/ experience of reviewing regulations like FINRA, SEC, FCA, APRA etc.
