Roles and responsibilities : - Possess 7+ years of experience in the equity investment research space with core expertise in 1 to 2 sectors - Manage his/her work independently which will include: - End to end ownership of financial models for coverage companies - Contributing to various reports for coverage sector earnings notes, investment teasers, initiating coverage notes, sector notes, thematic notes - Issuing timely updates on company events/sector events/trend changing events and gauging the impact on valuation of stocks - Building and maintaining sector specific databases and periodicals - Replying to queries from equity sales or institutional investors - Should have the ability to form independent views on stocks and generate research ideas for the client - Must be able to manage client engagements on a fully independent basis including contributing to morning meetings and dealing with the sales team of clients - Should be able to play an active role in various product/process development exercises for the client - If required, manage 1to 2 junior team members and train them on building domain/sector expertise; also, being responsible for their appraisals and career growth - Should be a - go to person- or a - consultant- for other TSC groups for the sector/practice/domain of his/her expertise - Should be able to create IPs/white papers/blogs/articles/teasers on his/her subject area, which can be used for public distribution by TSC for marketing purposes - Contribute to training and hiring activities in the relevant technical area - Must be able to actively introduce best practices with respect to his/her area of expertise within the team Ideal Candidate : - 7+ years of experience in Financial and/or Investment Research in a KPO or Consulting Firm - Core experience in 1-2 equity research sectors - Extensive experience in financial modelling; forecasting; valuations; writing investment research - Extensive experience in end to end management of projects - Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and valuations, industry analysis, macroeconomic analysis - Thorough understanding of financial markets and awareness of developments therein - Excellent communication (both written and oral) and presentation skills - Excellent secondary research skills
