The/Nudge Institute - Strategy & Operations Role - End Ultra Poverty/Asha Kiran Program

About The/Nudge :

- The/Nudge is an action institute working towards a poverty-free India, within our lifetime. We partner with governments, markets, and civil society to build resilient livelihoods for all. We are a collective of some of India's best leaders and entrepreneurs from across the industry, academia, government, and development sectors, and our work is organized across three impact streams:

- Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (CSDE): exists to enable underprivileged youth to lead flourishing lives

- Centre for Rural Development (CRD): exists to enable families to come out of extreme poverty

- Centre for Social Innovation (CSI): exists to nudge top talent to solve India's biggest challenges

About End Ultra-Poverty and Asha Kiran:

- At The/Nudge Institute's Centre for Rural Development, our purpose is to help rural households, especially women in those households, come out of extreme poverty.

- Our End Ultra-Poverty program works with the poorest of poor or ultra-poor and helps them come out of ultra-poverty through an evidence-rich solution called the Graduation Approach. Our scale pathway is to work with governments to support them in implementing and scaling the Graduation Approach and other approaches that work for the ultra-poor. We work across 7 states currently and are expanding in partnership with government and civil society organizations.

- Our Asha Kiran program works with the poor and helps women in poor households build a supplementary source of income through small livestock (backyard goatery and poultry). Our scale pathway is to work with government and markets to create an enabling environment and a functioning value chain so that the women are able to earn in a durable manner.

Key Responsibilities :

Program Management

- Develop a unified outcomes framework (annual & quarterly) for the programs (Asha Kiran and End Ultra-Poverty) aligned to The/Nudge's overall strategic goals

- Align Product, Operations, Partnerships, Fundraising, People & Culture, Tech and Impact hubs and other relevant functions on these outcomes such that each team works towards the same northstar

- Periodically review progress against stated outcomes, launch and lead initiatives to resolve challenges of strategic clarity, collaborations, resource needs, alignment and others that emerge to steer the programs towards achievement of common outcomes

- Prepare teams for high quality internal program reviews by the Head of Programs and CEO against quarterly goals

- Review and build robustness of internal monitoring and project management frameworks by developing and maintaining project management frameworks, trackers, review cadences

Stakeholder Management

- Own management of stakeholders (internal and external) including management of program finances, reporting to donors, supporters and board, reporting to The/Nudge's leadership teams on programs' progress

- Special Projects and Strategic Initiatives

- Analyze, develop and drive strategic initiatives to improve the programs' strategy, design and implementation

- This role is expected to work on special projects that are cross-functional and are across Horizon 1,2 and 3

- The ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups in a fast-paced environment

- Comfort to travel in rural India - across 8 states per the needs of the program's goals
