Category Manager

1. Responsible for managing an existing product category or emerging product range

2. Create and develop a long term plan and strategy for development of the category

3. Plan effective strategies, brand communications, promotional inputs, and exciting campaigns.

4. Maintaining formal observation of competitive activity and assessing its effects on the brand.

5. Administering the various elements in the marketing budget, production, promotions, product publicity, etc and ensuring it is not overspent.

6. Monitor the inventory status of the assigned products. Review product availability, adjust inventory levels and production schedules.

7. Work alongside customer and national accounts teams to translate customer insights into strategies which drive performance

8. Develop strong working relationships with cross functional teams at corporate office

9. Conduct regular market visits and provide customer focus insights regarding the product and category. Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements; appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.

10. Manage, control, and implement the approved Annual Marketing Plan of the assigned products.

11. Monitoring sales achievements (both fiscal and volume) against the plan.

12. Working along with the sales department to implement marketing strategy and tactics for the brand.

13. Prepare sales forecast and monitor assigned product stock and coordinate with logistic personnel to order the assigned products

14. Maintain and grow the top line and bottom line of the given category

15. Manage a team and develop the team for next level. Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
