SAP S4 Hana: Technology Lead - Make To Deliver/procure-to-pay/ Finance
Job Purpose :
- SAP S4 is the next generation ERP that would form the Digital Core of the Enterprise. This will be a very large Transformation program over 4-5 years with an investment of circa 200 Mln. This will replace core ERP systems that have been in use over the last 15+ years leveraging new technologies in particular SAP's S4 HANA platform and a number of surround systems.
- This program on Digital Core is aimed to deliver to the strategic theme of - Simpler Faster Leaner- across all our core processes, driving standardization & simplification without compromising speed & agility.
- An advance team on SAP S4 is being setup under a Senior Director to lead this program.
- Manufacturing, Warehousing & Dispatch (Make-to-Deliver / Procure to Pay / Finance) processes - which this role will be working on - form a very core of the ERP suite.
Job Responsibilities :
- The specific accountability of this role is described below across preparation phase (2020) as part of the - Advance Team and thereafter as a core team member of a larger Enterprise wide Project Team responsible for Design/Build and eventually implementation & change management.
- In the initial stage of the program (2020), this role will be responsible for :
- Interrogating current operational Make-to-deliver / Procure to Pay / Finance processes and current ERP systems (configurations & custom development)
- Bring in strong product perspective on the - art of the possible- on Make-to-Deliver / Procure to Pay / Finance processes with S4 with a deep expertise / experience on both
- Interface with teams in IT and Supply Chain Functions to look at pain points / bottlenecks as well as explicit & latent needs
- Link up externally to identify Best & Next practices in Make-to-Deliver / Procure to Pay / Finance
- Design the processes of the future and spell out quantified and strategic benefits
- Estimate Efforts, Resources & Costs of this program
- Call out potential risks and change management challenges and identify mitigation steps
- Help identify Technology and Process partners to support the journey
- Help flesh out the structure of the larger teams to follow in the detailed design & build stage of the program
- As the program moves to the blueprinting, design & build stage (2021+), this role along with other peer team members will be responsible
- Lead detailed blueprint workshops to validate and flesh out work done in preparation phase
- Driving to standard design to make the future system & process more resilient and efficient
- Manage the build / configuration with technology partners (System Integrators)
- Test the system
- In the implementation phase (2020+), this role along with other peer members will be responsible for:
- Efficient landing of the system across Business Units
- Training of users
- Manage cutover
- Change management
- Along with business operating management, secure the benefits
- This role, along with other core team members, is an important thought leadership to design the enterprise systems of the future.
- Provide digital thought leadership, bringing knowledge and solutions to drive business outcomes. Think - digital- and embrace next generation ways of doing work. Ensure insight and understanding of - best practices- to keep pace with competition/peer companies.
- Provide technology leadership for implementation of new technology platform / capabilities, by performing design reviews, code walkthroughs / review to ensure adherence to standards and security guidelines.
- Provide technical due diligence of software products and platforms. Create technical assessments, based on criteria including cost, security, vendor fit, alignment to objectives, reliability, and scalability
Candidate Profile : Essential
- A degree in Engineering or Chartered Accountancy. Post graduate MBA with specialization in Make-to-Deliver / Procure to Pay / Finance and/or IT from a premier institution is preferred
- Formal training & Certification in SAP Functional modules is preferred
- Experience of at least 10 years in one or a combination of
- IT professional in a reputed end user with a large mission critical SAP implementation;
- A Global Tier 1 IT Consulting / Solutions company with direct responsibility
- Must have handled at least 2 large full cycle implementations - at least one of which as a senior program lead with overall leadership of all Make-to-Deliver / Procure to Pay / Finance processes
- Must have handled at least one large implementation of SAP S4 HANA
- Experience in business analysis and process re-engineering to identify opportunities and to make a robust business case with quantified benefits on the area
- Experience in converting functional requirements to detailed technical configurations and getting them built on large enterprise systems
- Strong facilitation, leadership, creative thinking, and collaboration skills required. Must display vision and resiliency and the ability to engage and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Display Learning agility and ability to play evolving roles - in this case from a key lead member of an advance team; to a functional member of a larger program team.
- Track record of delivery with internal & external teams of professionals.
- Experience in change management with users and trapping business benefits.
- Experience working with virtual teams across time zones
