Job Description

Job Title: Manager, Technical Sales

Reports To: Manager, Technical Sales India

General Summary:

- Provides technical direction primarily for pre-sales support to the Enterprise Solutions sales teams, Business Partners, and end-users for the Client's families of copper and fiber cabling systems. Responsible for ensuring that Account Managers (AMs), Partners , Consultants, and End-users are updated with the latest technical information, with special emphasis on key Enterprise Solutions differentiators.

- Provide technical support that facilitates the marketing and sales or Client's products so that corporate goals for quality, growth, market share, and profitability are met. Supports sales and marketing efforts concerning the installation, connectorization, and general use of Client's products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Work closely with sales and marketing to provide pre-sale application engineering support in order to provide additional value our customers. This will include traveling to customer facilities with sales and marketing personnel when additional technical expertise is required.

- Present the value of Client’s solutions to the end users where applicable.

- Provide training to the Partners and consultants on Client's Unique Solution benefits and product positioning

- Support the roll out of new products with external presentations focused on the technical differentiation aspects of the product and value proposition.

- Create, enhance, and deliver solutions presentations for end-user customers and Consultants geared toward enhancing sales of Client’s product lines through discussions of current systems technologies. Contribute new material back to the larger technical community for broader use.

- Provide engineering support to Global customer base and inside/outside sales personnel by answering technical questions concerning cable performance, applications, and electrical/mechanical characteristics. Act as liaison between global customers and manufacturing/engineering by forwarding customer technical requests and coordinating communication and follow-up with customers on results of requests.

- Provide feedback to product engineering on current market trends and design features that will improve the marketability of Client’s product line. Work closely with engineering, sales and marketing for the design and development of new products with particular focus around application support.

- Review bid specifications with consultants, Business Partners, and end-users to position Client’s entire product portfolio with emphasis on higher value-added/technology solutions, and to alert AMs and Product Management if issues exist.

- Perform on-site warranty certification inspections to ensure that Client guidelines have been followed during the installation. Provide technical support to resolve warranty claims.

- Contribute to Enterprise Solutions product literature maintenance by identifying inconsistencies and errors. Support sales and marketing with any media activities. This may include writing articles for publications, assisting with advertising or preparing technical documentation such as design guides.

- Advise the Enterprise Solutions team and its customers regarding all aspects of copper/fiber cabling testing.

- Attend meetings and report on industry standards activity when required.

Job Specifications:

- Bachelors degree in related technical curriculum and 8 to 10 years of related experience or a Related experience must consist of applications, field engineering or sales engineering for data communications, cabling infrastructure, fiber optic, and coaxial products.

- Candidates must have strong verbal and written communications skills.

- Candidates must possess skills in Excel, Word, Power Point, MathCAD and other related software.

- Candidates must possess the ability to use hand tools and test equipment.

- The Ideal Candidate will have an engineering or technical degree with telecommunications focus and a minimum of 8-10 years experience with enterprise networking products.

- The candidate must have detailed knowledge of copper and fiber structured cabling products and relevant standards, and a good understanding of LAN/WAN systems and physical media requirements, including wireless applications.

- The Technical Manager must have excellent written and oral skills, and must possess excellent presentation and hands-on demonstration skills suitable for both large and small audiences.

- The candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. He/she needs to be results focused and be able to work in a dynamic environment in which they will often be called upon to communicate with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams. They must be able to motivate and encourage others.

Candidate with networking credentials like CCNA/CCDA are preferred along with working experience.
