Job Description Summary :
Project managers at Level II are individual contributors with intermediate-level job scope who is responsible for all phases of the projects assigned to them including planning, execution and closure; on time, within budget and meeting customer/business objectives. The job is responsible for managing small to medium-sized projects ranging in type from infrastructure augments, software upgrades, security enhancements, existing product/application enhancements, limited to no customer interactions, or others with a similar scope. A typical project workload would include but is not limited to 1-3 projects: each with an executive sponsor and approximately 2-4 cross-functional teams. Interactions with external vendors, partners, professional services, etc. are expected to be minimal
Job Description :
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the successful execution and control of medium level complex projects from initiation through delivery, organizing cross-functional activities to ensure completion of the project - on time and within budget.
- Develops a project charter, holds the kick off meeting, builds the project plan, executes on the plan, and provides regular status reporting.
- Responsible for capturing all project issues and ensuring their resolution and/or escalation in a time-appropriate manner.
- Responsible for performing risk assessments and managing risks as well as managing changes to the project scope through effective change control management.
- Responsible for determining resource requirements, identifying and working with other leaders to acquire qualified team members to meet project deliverables.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for the project team and executive management and is responsible for leading cross-functional project team activities, providing leadership, guidance and coaching to the project team.
- Responsible for tracking the budget to the project deliverables.
- The qualifications we are looking for are considered a mix of work experience and education.
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS/BA in business management, computer science, information systems or equivalent work experience.
- Requires 5+ years of project management experience
- Solid working knowledge of software development process/methodologies and Agile Development.
- Solid oral and written communication skills are required to effectively interface and communicate with all levels of management.
- Proficient in creating project plans using MS Project, Excel or other tools.
Additional Qualifications:
- Solid leadership, interpersonal, team building, facilitation, conflict management, influence management, and negotiation skills are required to effectively lead the project team to meet project goals.
- Strong working knowledge of standard project management discipline philosophy and the ability to apply this philosophy within our organizational framework is required.
- Knowledge of telecommunications, wireless and wireline industries technologies is preferred.
- PMP certification is preferred.
