Technical Product Head - Solar Technologies

Responsibilities:

The person must possess a unique blend of business, design and technical savviness; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. As lead of the product development team, bridge technical and business worlds with creative engineers that expand access to modern energy.

The position will report to the VP Product & customer experience, with key responsibilities including, but not limited to:

- End-to-end ownership of solar product technology vision and strategy. Build, Manage and Validate a technology roadmap.

- Manage the entire product lifecycle: defining the product strategy, conceiving of features, delivering product requirements, working with cross-functional teams through implementation

- Lead internal engineering teams and/or manage external tech vendors to design, develop and deliver products as per road map and objectives

- Build and lead a high-performing internal team to undertake technical prototyping, verification & validation, vendor development and launch

- Select, manage and maintain relationships with high quality, professional service providers, academic and research institutions as required

- Recruit and manage interns, fellows and seconded professionals supporting the product line

- Product innovation through research and continuous improvements with an eye on cost

Required Skills & Experience:

- 10+ years of prior experience in product development under a staged gate development environment

- Fully operational knowledge of hardware, firmware, battery, power electronics, Photovoltaic cells

- Proven track record of leading the development of exceptional consumer products from concept to launch in the consumer electronics or renewable energy industries

- Experience with ultra-low cost design, human centered design, and Lean Startup methodologies

- Demonstrated understanding and experience of developing solutions for consumers in emerging markets

- Extreme attention to detail

- Excels at working in ambiguous situations and comfortable within fast-moving entrepreneurial organizations

- Cross-functional leadership and proven execution experience

- Strong blend of analytical, decision-making and creative problem solving skills.

Compensation Structure INR 25 lc to 30 lc per annum including 20% variable
