Technical Head - Process & Manufacturing - Automotive/Heavy Machinery/Mining Industry (15-18 yrs)

The Technical Head is accountable for steering the technological direction and operations of the manufacturing footprint in India, primarily serving the Mining vertical. This role entails collaborating with global operations teams to actualize the group's manufacturing strategy. As the landscape evolves, there may be a shift of products to India, necessitating expansion of technical and manufacturing capabilities in existing facilities or the establishment of new ones.

Key Responsibilities:

Process and Manufacturing Engineering:

- Spearhead the design and implementation of engineering solutions in manufacturing.

- Oversee process and manufacturing engineering functions across various operations.

- Implement essential process engineering concepts and optimize operations for enhanced efficiencies.

Operations Metrics and Strategy:

- Harmonize operational metrics and competencies across Indian and global plants.

- Design and support local manufacturing strategies aligned with global operations.

- Production Management, Continuous Improvement, and Lean Leadership:

- Develop and implement production management systems adhering to group standards.

- Ensure production systems excel in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale metrics.

- Drive continuous improvement and lean concepts throughout operations.

- Center of Excellence, Technology Excellence, and Expert Development:

- Establish Centers of Excellence for global competency development.

- Cultivate product group experts in manufacturing engineering.

- Stay abreast of process technologies, fostering innovation and digital transformation.

Capex and Sustainability Projects:

- Aggregate capex needs considering HSE, technical upgrades, and capacity enhancements.

- Oversee brown/green field projects and improve sustainability initiatives.

Team Development and Succession Planning:

- Plan and execute team training to meet departmental objectives.

- Foster team growth and succession planning for critical roles.

Qualifications:

- Extensive experience in Manufacturing Industry, particularly in Automotive, Heavy Engineering, or Mining.

- Engineering qualification with over 18 years of experience.

- Proficiency in regulatory requirements for factory operations.

- Background in Manufacturing Engineering, Digital, and Project Management.

- Hands-on experience with ERP, Production Management Systems, and establishing Centers of Excellence.

- Expertise in managing brown/green field and capex projects.

- Strong techno-commercial acumen.

- Familiarity with matrix organizations and multi-stakeholder management.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and adept at communication.

- Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills.

- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
