About the Job Opportunity

We are looking for Technical Architect (Software Development Manager). This individual manages project requests, prioritizes team activities, and assigns tasks across the team of application developers while adhering to full Software Development Life Cycle principles. They will also hire, coach, and mentor application developers, and ensure their career development aligns with their skills and personal goals, and matches the needs of the company.

The Applications Development Manager will work with IT and business leaders to define and implement the application platform strategy as it fits into IT and business strategies. This role ensures that development projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements, and identify and resolve system issues. This individual will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of best practices to guide his/her development team on issues related to the design, development, and deployment.

Position Details: Technology Architect

Location : Bangalore

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

- Define, document and communicate the system architecture and design specifications

- Provide technical leadership to the platform organization

- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirement analysis, implementation and testing

- Serves as consultant on designs, complex technical issues and investigations

- Work with other architects across the company in developing the architecture and technology roadmap

- Define, recommend and oversee development processes, standards and best practices

- Mentor and coach members on the development team

- Communicate and share knowledge of platform with other members across the company

- Collaborate effectively with Product managers, Program Managers, technical managers and other stakeholders across the organization.

Required skills:

- Degree with Btech or Masters- degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent

- At least 10 years of experience in software product development and architecture

- Demonstrated experience architecting large scale internet applications

- Ability to translate business requirements into design artefacts and communicate concepts effectively with technical and non-technical audiences

- Expertise in Java, J2EE and server technologies and frameworks such as Web services (REST) and Spring, as well as databases (Relational and NoSQL)

- Experience with large scale, distributed computing and big data concepts

- Knowledge of client side technologies such as JSF, JQuery and AngularJS

- Knowledge of architectural and design patterns and architecture frameworks such as TOGAF

- Sound in computer science and programming fundamentals including Data structures and Algorithms

- Strong knowledge and understanding of Unix and networking basics

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Experience with Agile software development methodology and working with distributed development teams
