Team Manager - Loan Syndication/Downsell - Real Estate Sector - NBFC

Urgently Required Lead/Team Manager - Loan Syndication/Downsell (Real Estate Sector) for a Leading NBFC to be based at their corporate office in Mumbai.

Principal Accountabilities

Identify potential opportunities within existing asset portfolio/ new clients in the region and take key steps towards conversion of such opportunities into firm advisory/ arranger mandates

Prepare key content of the business pitches and offer solutions to the clients for their financing requirements viz. pricing and other key features of debt instrument, timelines, value proposition, etc. in medium to large scale

Conduct preliminary due-diligence of projects/ proposals at the pre-offer stage and evaluate business plan with support from transaction managers to enable senior management buy-in

Provide market intelligence to Group Heads/ Senior management to review competition and enable decision on organizational action points

Regular interaction with lenders- community to stay up to date in current deals in infrastructure/ non-infra sectors, policy developments, interest rate movements, view on economy, movement of key banking personnel, etc.

Render end-to-end advisory to clients at various stages to firm up transaction contours for debt participation and tailor the solution balancing both client requirement and market risk appetite;

Manage the detailed due-diligence process post award of mandate with decision support from transaction managers to arrive at customized financing solution for complex projects/ corporate including business plan, P&L/ cash flow projections, debt sizing, capital structure, financial covenants, tenor, terms and conditions of debt facility;

Co-ordinate diligence process with various internal groups viz. Project Finance Group (PFG), risk, legal to provide inputs on loan structuring, drafting term and conditions from syndication perspective;

Internal sales to management/ sanctioning committee after due analysis of transaction risks with recommendation of extent of book participating and syndication strategy of un-subscribed debt;

Preparation and review of Information Memorandum/ market communication documents highlighting the salient investment features, risks, opportunities, etc. prior to launch with potential banks and institutions;

Monitoring and overseeing credit evaluation process with banks/ FIs from branch to HO including query resolution, compliances, etc. to ensure committed debt tie-up;

Oversee the documentation process (including synchronization of terms sheets) and ensure expeditious financial closure amongst banks/ FIs, etc. through effective co-ordination and smart negotiation between the Client, Banks/ FIs, legal counsels

Facilitate interactions and consensus amongst all stakeholders of the deal

Mentoring new joinees in the team to acclimatize themselves with organization systems and standard industry practices;

Guidance to and handholding junior team members encountering process and conceptual bottlenecks during transaction execution;

Ensure regular communication of transactions updates to Group Heads/ Senior management for course correction and resolution of key issues;

Implement database/ information systems for effective tracking and administration of business progress in regular intervals to achieve annual budgets;

Contribute to team strategy as directed by Group Heads/ Senior Management
