Team Lead - Credit Risk Management (ONLY INVESTMENT BANKING CANDIDATES)

About the role

- We are looking for an experienced Credit Risk Manager for our Bangalore set up.

- The core responsibilities include: Work closely with the Global Head of CRM to ensure functional integration of the India-based CRM team and joint delivery of high-quality analytical work Team management responsibility for the CRM set up in Bangalore, that includes mentoring and coaching junior staffs, performance appraisal, building talent Represent Credit Risk Bangalore team in on/off-shore forums and platforms.

- Also work closely with the Bangalore Risk Management location Head in transforming Bangalore as the Centre of Excellence for Risk Management Close collaboration with the broader CRM Executive Team and the other Financial Risk Management units in driving forward both FRM and CRM strategic priorities Apart from managerial responsibilities, as a part of the role you will have Global Sector Lead analyst (GSLA) responsibilities for specific sector and GSLA backup responsibilities for few other sectors.

- GSLA will be responsible for oversight of the credit risk landscape for the relevant corporate sectors and the job function will include the following: Preparing annual portfolio review of the sector (or subsector) and ensuring its timely completion.

- Ensuring that ratings and limits are assigned for single obligors in the relevant sector are reviewed/assigned as required by Standards and/or as requested by a business unit or other risk taking the unit.

- Managing/updating rating tools/scorecards associated with the sector as per the standards. Updating/monitoring various watch list and taking corrective actions with respect to limit excision.

- Role would require an understanding of various credit & surety/trade credit products and a basic understanding of insurance/reinsurance business model.

- Role would require coordination with business unit and other risk-taking units to understand the underlying transaction or limit requirement on a periodical basis.

- In addition, the analytical task such as working with cross-functional teams in global projects, sectoral overview to business etc.

About the team

- The Credit Risk Management (CRM) team is part of the centralized Financial Risk Management department, whose mission is to ensure that all financial risks across the Organisational Group and its Business Units are fully understood, appropriately governed and valued, as well as transparently monitored and controlled.

- Credit risks are prevalent across Organisation, including investment strategies in Asset Management, underwriting activities in Credit & Surety (reinsurance and direct commercial insurance), credit counterparty risks embedded in any type of structured transactions, as well as through corporate finance activities (custodial, banking and derivatives counterparties).

- The CRM team identifies, measures, monitors and controls credit default and migration risk, and ensures that client's credit risk profile is transparent to management and appropriate relative to client's risk appetite.

About You

- The position requires at least a bachelor's degree, in most instances complemented by higher education, such as a Masters' degree, MBA or PhD with a finance or risk management focus and a professional designation such as CFA, FRM

- A minimum of 8-10 years in financial markets experience is expected, ideally including both front office as well as risk management experience.

- Previous experience in managing a team is highly preferred.

- Very strong technical knowledge in at least one industrial sector of credit risks is a must, including the structural understanding of the functioning of capital markets, credit & loan structuring, corporate finance, as well as credit research and rating methodology.

- A strong track record of success both professionally and academically with excellent communication skills.
