I) Position Summary
The person will have Product Management responsibility for a key product within the SaaS business
The Product Manager for SaaS is responsible for the planning, development and execution of SaaS product throughout the product lifecycle and exit management, including: gathering and prioritizing market requirements, definition and execution of the product strategy. He/She is expected to work closely with cross functional teams and to ensure that the Business Line objectives are met in line with the company’s strategy and goals. As a product manager you would be expected to participate in creating creative and cost effective solutions for customers
Major Activities (Responsibilities)
- Strategic / Market facing –
- Work with cross functional team to define specific product strategy, roadmaps, market potential, pricing, positioning
- Understand the drivers to build a successful and sustainable CRM product offering.
- Evaluate products – Manage relationships with product partner(s), including contracts, commercials, and periodic reviews, keeping a long term strategic view
- Scan environment continuously.
- Be a specialist in cloud messaging & collaboration category, with the ability to plan & design robust cloud messaging infrastructure per customer requirement
- Compare feature sets, do trials, understand partner’s roadmap.
- Evolve key metrics to be tracked and able to prepare MIS report for management updates
- Develop & execute customer engagement framework –
- Discuss & drive customer requirement scoping exercise and translate into formal proposal to customer ,
- Expected to led negotiation with partners with a win-win outcome,
- Redline contracts & provide inputs to commercial team
- Own/Share business case – Develop Business case for the service
- Display business acumen to Own, Plan, Manage the Annual Operating Plans to drive profitable market share through new product development and enhancements
- Prepare presentation and business case to communicate cost & capital expense management & secure budget approvals
- Drive the creation of sales, marketing, support tool kits

- Drive sales and support enablement,

- All customers facing documentation.
- Provide RFQ support to Sales /Pre Sales
- Provide sales support through customer meetings, proposals, and technical clarifications.
- Must understand Messaging application architecture, articulate solutions for integration with other possible systems (of Tata Communications and customer’s environment), Take timely steps to stimulate demand.
- Responsible for managing and ensuring project deliverables with respect to quality and timelines.
- Coordinate the analysis and design sessions and define the application design, data design, integration and reports design and translating to technical design for successful implementation

- Bachelors in Engineering or Bachelors in Computer Science
- A Masters in Business Administration would be advantageous
- Experience in SI environment or a technical specialist in cloud / messaging & collaboration
c) Requisite Skills:
Technical
- Well-developed knowledge of messaging technologies used in cloud. Preferably exposure to Office365, Google Apps, linix messaging etc.
- Strong understanding of the collaboration / communication SaaS business tools and disciplines.
- Financial skills: Development of business financials, pricing, costing and profitability analysis.
- Product documentation, including product collaterals such as brochures, presentations, service definitions, sales guides, ROI tools, and others as needed.
Functional
- Strong background in market needs, and development of technology based business solutions.
- Demonstrated success in launching / managing technology products and services in an IT or telecom environment
- Strong techno-commercial skills.

d) Work Experience
- 5- 8years of experience in Product Management / Business related functions in a SaaS / IT environment
- At least 3 years of experience in deploying & support messaging and collaboration infrastructure (Microsoft, Lotus Notes, Google Apps, Linux based messaging etc)
- Experience authoring detailed customer proposal, MRDs and/or PRDs
