JOB PURPOSE: - Understand and lead Tata Trust's ongoing work in Odisha which includes work on multiple Themes including rural livelihoods, education, health, migration, WASH and so on. - Identify region-specific needs that are unaddressed. - To coordinate with the design team for designing new programs to address the identified needs in line with the approved strategic goals of the Trust - To facilitate effective and efficient implementation of the program to garner maximum impact. - To monitor the implementation of the program to ensure that the qualitative and quantitative objectives of the program are met in a timely manner JOB SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Core Activities : 1.1. Lead implementation of ongoing programs of the Trusts in Odisha and ensure quality outputs and impact. 1.2. Research and identify thematic gaps and conduct needs assessment, where required. 1.3. Guide development of project implementation plan to ensure incorporation of inputs from technical experts. 1.4. Deploy new plans in consultation with the reporting manager. 1.5. Ensure timely deployment and effective utilization of committed resources (human resource, finance, etc.) and raise additional funding. 2. Supervision and feedback : 2.1. Support and supervise implementation of programs, being directly implemented by Trust or through partners to ensure that the same is on course in close coordination with Area Managers. 2.2. Evaluate implementation activities and feed learnings into program design, as required. 2.3. Ensure strong MIS and data management system to track progress in the field is in place 2.4. Provide feedback to the management on periodic progress (including key developments/issues) made against agreed objectives and targets. 3. Team Management : 3.1. Provide effective mentoring to reportees to develop their skills and capabilities. 3.2. Undertake periodic progress meetings and bi-annual appraisal meetings. 3.3. Develop strong and effective internal relationships with colleagues in all teams, through appropriate communications, cross team working and networking at all levels. 3.4. Develop synergies between Program Design Specialists, operating teams and relevant support functions 4. Other : 4.1. Liaise and develop strong working relationship/network with government and other stakeholders in coordination with the reporting manager. 4.2. Actively develop pathways to ensure sustainability of work at the community level and scaling up of select components by working with government, where applicable. 4.3. Any other work assigned by the Reporting Manager/higher authorities. 4.4. Act as a branch ambassador of the 'TATA TRUSTS' and ensure compliance with the TCoC. 4.5. Raise funding for expanding work JOB HOLDER SPECIFICATION:&nbsp; Knowledge: - Strong understanding of development sector, especially rural development - Knowledge of trust laws, government policies and necessary compliances for non-profits Skills/Personal traits: - Results and target driven - Solution focused - Computer and IT literate - Able to work as part of a team and takes initiative - Ability to prioritize, juggle a varied workload, work camly under pressure and meet tight deadlines - Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to network and build relationships at all (including rural communities) levels - Excellent verbal and written communications skills - Excellent presentation skills - Good negotiation skills; the ability to challenge colleagues effectively in order to achieve the best outcome for Trust - Ability to speak, read, write the local languages falling within the region. Experience: - Minimum 10-15 years of experience in program implementation across multiple themes - Minimum 5 years field experience in the sector - Excellent track record of leading high performing teams - Experience of providing detailed reports and updates - Successful track record of achieving targets - Experience of conducting research - Multi-cultural management experience Qualifications: - Doctorate or Postgraduate degree in the concerned field Others: - Undertake extensive travel to the field and other locations as required - Able to work extended hours and weekend as required
