About the team and role :
Category Operations works with cross-functional stakeholders like Operations, Finance & Customer Service to drive balance between maximizing revenue and best in class customer experience while constantly optimizing for cost. The Assistant Manager is expected to understand the basics of the business and aid the Category Operations Manager (COM) in planning, reporting & daily troubleshooting w.r.t the above domains.
Detailed Responsibilities :
Basic (To be mastered in the first 1-2 months) :
- Publishing routine business and operations performance reports
- Day to day troubleshooting w.r.t Finance, Customer Service and Operations issues
- Conducting swift basic level analysis, as and when required
Advanced :
- In depth understanding of the luxury business, processes and SOPs
- Assist the COM in planning monthly, quarterly and annual budgets for the category team
- Identifying underlying trends in data & the ability to drill down to the lowest level to drive actionable insights
- Working closely with central analytics / BI teams to set up data feeds tailored for category requirements
- Measuring and monitoring operational performance; identifying and prioritizing improvements accordingly
- Lead cross-functional projects to raise the bar w.r.t customer experience & operational efficiency
Minimum Qualifications / Competencies :
- MBA from a Tier1/2 Institute
- Good/Expert level MS Excel Skills
- Should be comfortable handling broken, unformatted data, extracting data from various sources and converting it into meaningful reports
- 0-2 years of post-MBA experience
Preferred Qualifications / Competencies :
- >1 Year experience in the e-commerce industry
- Basic level SQL & Tableau skills along with the ability to automate reports
- Well versed with presenting analyses and inferences for management review

- Forever curious; enjoys revealing insights and not just reporting numbers
- Ability to deal with ambiguity; has attention to detail and accuracy
- A strong team player who can engage effectively with a range of stakeholders without direct control / escalation [navigating through influence]
