Tata Capital - Senior Analyst - Private Equity - SSI

Key Objective of the Job :

- To analyse industry sectors / target companies for investment.

- To monitor the performance of the portfolio companies.

Major Deliverables :

- Industry analysis to identify industries and sectors which the business should focus on; understanding of macroeconomic business environment, identification of business cycles, factors influencing growth, stability, profitability, business risk, decline, sickness;

- Company analysis to identify companies which have been under performing in relation to industry and other leaders in the industry, assess reasons for under performance, assess scope for turnaround;

- Analyse companies for investment as per defined criteria and as advised by the Principal, including preparation of proposals for investment;

- Preparing business plans, sensitivity analysis and undertake valuations for the purposes of negotiations;

- Review of MIS of the portfolio companies, comparison with industry performance, budgets etc.

Educational Qualification :

- BE (preferably Mechanical); additionally MBA (Finance) / CFA / ICWA

Desired Experience :

- 3 to 5 years experience in an analyst role. Should have very good communication skills and ability to interact with the rest of the team. Should be a stickler for detail and process adherence.

Other desired attributes :

- The challenges for this position is to continuously analyze industries and sectors which have good growth potential; companies which are under performing; evaluate potential targets for investment, interacting with research analysts, database and credit rating agencies, as well as other external data providers; maintaining a continuous search of under performing sectors and under performing companies.

- Maintaining confidentiality of information obtained or processed

- Ability to understand significant issues in stressed assets and its turnaround.

- Background in equity research, analytical capability and willingness to work around numbers extensively, ability to sift the core from the mass data. Extensive knowledge of modeling on spread sheets is a must.

- Ability to work in a closely knit team; inter-personal skills; commitment to time schedules

- Ability to multi task on activities in different portfolio companies

- Willingness to travel frequently and for extended duration's
