Tasks

The specific tasks to be undertaken are:

- Develop regional business goal and plans for implementation in sync with organization plan of TARU

- Lead in business development activities at regional, state and district levels against the specified targets

- Support in proposal development, project implementation, project reports, and monitoring of activities

- Support in project team/staff hiring, managing and mentoring them

- Reinforce brand TARU by effectively positioning the organization as the preferred partner by convincing external stakeholders and donors about the technical supremacy and knowledge that TARU brings. Liaise and maintain client, stakeholder and media relations

- Represent TARU at various forums including at lectures, conferences, workshops, bid meetings, and other events.

- Act as first response point at the regional and state levels.

- Support in partnership building with NGOs, Technical Organization, CBOs, Collectives, etc.

- Lead in knowledge management through writing stories, blogs, articles in newspapers/journals, etc.

- Development of concept/background notes and terms of references related to operation

- Mange/coordinate state office administration related to HR, FM, Admin, IT and others

- Work closely with practices and sectors of TARU in operationalizing their plans and strategies. Support them with logistics and technical inputs.

- Hold self-accountable for making decisions, managing resources efficiently, achieving and role modeling TARU's operation values

- Conduct field visits to the project sites and identify strengths/weaknesses in program implementation and provide feedback and technical assistance to improve both individual and institutional performances for effective programming

- Keep up-to-date with the work of all of the project teams, as well as the organization as a whole, in order to provide timely information to senior TARU staff.

- Aligning work style with established work culture and leadership team

- Any other related activities, as assigned.

Qualification

- PhD and or Master's degree or a Professional degree in Engineering/Public Health/Rural/Urban Development/ Social development/Management or any other discipline relevant to this role from reputed institutes

- Minimum 8-12 years- experience especially with national, international and corporate organizations. Person having multi-sectoral experience will be preferred.

- Demonstrated leadership, advisory and technical skills. In-depth knowledge of social sector issues in India

- Ability to conceptualize, innovate, plan and execute ideas. Capacity to develop work plans, budgets, funding proposals.

- Proven skills in project management, quality assurance, setting standards, and monitoring.

- High personal & professional integrity. Team player and ability to work under pressure and meeting deadlines. Problem solving attitude

- Demonstrated experience in actively participating in debates and influencing policy making

- Experience of managing teams, office and logistic

- Good analytical and knowledge management skills including writing and presentation skills

- Excellent networking and partnership building skills

- Excellent fluency in English and regional languages would be added advantage

Reporting line

The Regional Representative will work under overall guidance of Regional Mentor of TARU. However, he/she will be expected to coordinate with the Chairman and all the Directors and will work in close collaboration of managers and sector leaders.
