We are looking for the GM - Materials for our division based at Faridabad. Please find the details as mentioned below :
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Understand the procurement requirements (except for Capital purchases, packaging and consumables) and support the strategic sourcing team in vendor development strategy
- Prioritize categories for Raw Material, BOP and services purchase and procurement based on analysis of data for past and present purchase costs, availability, criticality of need etc.
- Ensure complete documentation of all Purchase Agreements with vendors and ensure adherence to performance & quality standards as agreed upon by the approved vendors
- Develop the annual procurement budget in consultation with the Business Head and the Plant Heads
- Explore opportunities for alternate sourcing avenues for cost reduction and risk mitigation
- Ensure cost of Procurement is optimized through effective negotiations
- Promote effective working relations with suppliers by establishing and maintaining equitable and mutually profitable relationships
- Interface with user departments on issues like materials specifications, quality deviations, etc.
- Meet and exceed expectations of internal customers on Quality & Availability of BOM and Project related purchases
- Evaluate suppliers and develop a pool of preferred suppliers (Category A, B & C) for approval from the Finance and Operations Head
- Lead the process of vendor audits in alignment with the quality policy of the organization
- Oversee management of optimum inventory and undertake initiatives to reduce inventory carrying cost (Finished goods + WIP) for all the plants
- Ensure appropriate production planning and inventory management to ensure on time delivery to customers for all plants
- Oversee the creation of the monthly, weekly and daily production plan as per the inputs received from Sales & Marketing, production and purchase teams
- Ensure that the PPC team initiates the MRP process to consolidate resource requirements required for the production planning process
- Evaluate performance of senior executives for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and their contribution in attaining objectives
- Actively participate in recruitment of top/senior roles across the organization
- Nominate subordinates actively for the people development initiatives like trainings, workshops across the organization etc.
- Support the consistent & effective implementation of the designed policies, systems and interventions at Plants in coordination with HR Head
Desired Qualifications:
- BE or B. Tech in mechanical/ production/ industrial engineering + MBA in Operations/ General Management.
Desired Experience :
- 15+ years of industry experience in Supply Chain, Purchase and Operations with minimum 3 - 4 years in a leadership position.
Functional/ Technical Skills required:
- Knowledge of the automotive industry
- Knowledge of products manufactured by the organization
- Knowledge of Material Management and material movement
- Knowledge of ABC, VED, FSN analysis
- Financial and commercial acumen
- Basic concepts of operations management
