We are looking for Dy. Manager - Stores Operations
Roles & Responsibilities :
- Maintain Inventory level and ensure availability of material as per the requirement to reduce inventory carrying cost
- Verify the physical/ actual quantity for each material present in the store as compared to the requirement/ demand and prepare the list of materials that are in sufficient quantity/ need to be procured
- In case of material availability, issue the materials using FIFO system and coordinate with material handling team for sending it to the shop floor
- Prioritize the materials based on the immediate and future requirements of the shop floor and place the material as per the priority levels for easy storage, identification and distribution
- Coordinate with Planning department for finalizing the priorities for each shortage material
- Prepare MIS on inventory, improvement actions & corresponding budgets based on the material requisitions/WO raised by the Production department or Planning department
- Resolve plant and shop related consumption issues
- Unload the material safely in warehouse using material handling equipment
- Receive material in stores and ensure proper stacking and issue of material
- Manage the inward, storage and outward movement of materials such as raw material, bought out parts, components, oil, paint and lubricants to production through PPC
- Suggest best practices such as Just-In-Time (JIT) and Kanban for inventory management
- Develop procedures to monitor storage, monitor and review inventory status and ensure adherence to production plan
- Undertake physical verification of incoming material, prepare material shortage report and forward to the purchase department through PPC
- Ensure timely receipt and issue of packing material for finished goods
- Monitor and ensure cleanliness of storage areas and other daily maintenance activities, intimate and follow up with servicing department for repair work to maintain clean storage areas
- Prepare accurate documentation related to receipt of material, issuance of material and finished goods
- Ensure periodic material audits in stores for verification and ensure legal compliances.
- Ensure adherence to department budgets and minimize operating costs and overheads
- Ensure timely completion of all stages of Performance Appraisal Process
- Take responsibility for people development initiatives and building in-house capabilities for the employees in the department
Desired Qualifications:
- Graduate in any stream with Diploma in Material Management.
Functional/ Technical Skills required:
- Knowledge about the product & process
- Knowledge about quality systems, six sigma, kaizen, Kanban, FIFO etc.
- Commercial Acumen
- Awareness of Inventory Management
- Knowledge of various material handling and storage system
- Knowledge of various kinds of materials lying in the store and material characteristics
- Emergency handling procedures especially handling fire, solvent spillage, leakage etc.
