About the Role : We are looking to hire talent to power a neo bank for one of Eastern Africa's largest private banks. The role combines close strategy formulation with the client bank's CxO team and the chance to be a part of one of the largest digital banking rollouts in Africa. The Senior Consultant / acting Head of Product will helm the neo-bank's core super app / digital bank strategy and execution effort. Roles and Responsibilities: STRATEGY : - Play the role of Product Manager to create product roadmap for digital wallet / bank - Own product roll-outs to ensure optimal user experience, operation efficiency, security and compliance to regulations - Create vendor networks and leverage existing existing capabilities to deliver and manage product solutions that help achieve the business plan - Understand competitive landscape, discover market insights and identify customer pain points - Identify market trends and extrapolate into local commercial and technical roadmap - Evolve technology architecture towards fully de- coupled microservices using an API-driven ecosystem, library of reusable Front End components to ensure scale-up at minimal cost - Build and implement business strategy by clearly identifying new product enhancements, new revenue opportunities, channel positioning strategy and managing financing approvals - Set process to define and prioritize product challenges and opportunities, defining requirements for new features and implementing strategy from development to operations - Set product development lifecycle developing detailed functional specifications for existing and new products using user research and metrics - Build long-term product pipeline for Payments, e-Com, Banking and Lifestyle products - Ensure at par with global account opening, maintenance and other key customer / merchant journeys OPERATIONS: - Operate constant user mindset and behavior research, observation and data-analysis to affect product changes and oversee end-end testing - Owning end-end translation of business requirements into product requirement for internal / external IT team - Understand, define and track product performance metrics while consistently iterating products based on analysis of product performance metrics - Support Growth and Acquisition teams plan, design and produce events in-line with market expectations while overseeing project delivery elements within timelines - Drive engagement and loyalty through ownership of the banking and other super app features for in-app engagement including end-to-end journeys, providing strategic insights and ideas to Growth and Acquisition teams to further the app based on data analytics - Oversee commercial tie-ups and liaising with agencies, vendors, external partners, merchants for support as required - Track and drive improvement to key metrics like product acquisition and usage, rewards cost, engagement, customer satisfaction and post-analysis of campaigns / marketing campaigns - Responsible for conducting product trainings and ensure product information for various teams amd communications channels is always up-to-date - Own reporting of marketing, forecasting, and P&amp;L to manage budget and book keeping - dealing effectively with any incoming and outgoing expenses and providing associated reports - Define successive minimum viable products (MVP), work internal and external teams to build the MVPs, test prototypes and articulate business value of MVPs - Act as bridge between product engineering, Growth, Acquisition, Operations and other teams to ensure alignment on priorities, initiatives and outcomes related products and services - Ensuring success of MVPs by being close to clients - from running regular user groups through to supporting on boarding of pilot clients or beta programs - Manage each use case to drive performance while keeping an integrated view of the entire portfolio especially versus competition on KPIs such as daily transactions, monthly active users, Merchant Discount Rate, revenue per use case etc - Act as Scrum Master in implementation and adherence to Agile methodologies and DevOps framework in close coordination with internal and external teams - Drive innovation through offerings, enriching functionality and creating market leading positioning - Lead requirements gathering, feature discovery, product technical specifications while refining by feedback, write test plans, manage backlog and ensure product is ship to app quickly - Own all activities on Product Requirements Documents (PRD), Functional Specific Documents (FSD), Non-Functional Specific Document, System Design Specification, System Use Cases, Screen Mock-ups, Product Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Training Modules - Interface with external IT partner on Joint Application Development(JAD) sessions, project meetings, reviews and walkthroughs - Partner with the external and internal teams to ship functionality that delights users, has the right balance of impact v/s development cost to make smart feature versus time-to-market and cost trade-offs by using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of business value - Create and own data dictionary, business definitions of data mapping for all use cases - Ensure technical capacity to onboard new payment integrations and B2B merchant integrations IT RISK AND SECURITY : - Develop, implement and monitor a strategic, comprehensive information security and IT risk management program - Direct and approve design of security systems, review and approve security policies, controls and cyber incident response planning - Direct operations and budget for the protection of enterprise information assets and manage Information Security program including communications, applications and infrastructure - Lead investigations after breaches or incidents including impact and recommendations for avoiding similar vulnerabilities - Ensure compliance with the changing laws and applicable national IT security regulations DATA GOVERNANCE : - Determine data quality and drive improvements, reduce data defects (app crashes and complaints), meta-data edits, prevent future data defects by monitoring and improving data management - Own Master Data Intelligence, by establishing data architecture for decision-support applications and databases - providing all functions easy and consistent data for direction setting - Own Data Warehouse / Data Mart operations, to provide consistent, clean, reliably integrated data with high availability and throughput with very low latencies - Establish Master Data Management (MDM) to capture, integrate, and share descriptive data on customers, products, employees, suppliers, etc. ARCHITECTURE : - Assist in evaluating and technology selection process while driving architecture roadmap as per target state and transition period management - Delivery excellence to create a open banking, microservice based architecture for Core Banking, API microservice architecture, mobile-front end architecture and customer engagement architecture - Act as Single Point of Contact for development, management and communication of end to end architecture from customer channels, security, integrations with back office and 3rd parties - Lead solution design process at workshops, act as custodian of technical and associated standards especially for App to App and authorization workflows POLICY : - Lead policy generation and regulator engagement programs on topics such as Cyber-security, Anti Money Laundering, Wallets, P2P payments, mPOS etc - Lead payments related industry engagement for target segments such as Retailers, SME and micro-SMEs, Corporates, Foreign Institutions, eCommerce, eBusiness etc - Lead policy generation and government engagement on topics such as National ID program, Biometric authentication and related ecosystem development as well as next-gen payments such as Immediate Payment System (IMPS), Real Time Payment System (RTPS), National Payments Gateway Applicant Requirements: Please apply to us only if, -
