POSITION SUMMARY: Systems Consultant - Public
- Work with India field / inside sales team and technical sales representatives to drive Enterprise business (servers, storage, networking products & solutions) in the allocated business space, removing technical barriers, and providing business solutions.
- Meet or exceed sales objectives by providing technical sales consulting in opportunities that require a complex solution to an account's computing requirements.
- Takes a lead role on the technical side as the TECHNICAL SALES LEADER to ensure that the Dell solutions are comprehensive, achieve customer goals, and provide an outstanding customer experience.
- Work with customers in the Public segment to build relationships at the right levels and ensure Dell sales team understands and meets the customer's on-going Enterprise needs.
- Help drive and maintain relationships that will effectively remove barriers to enterprise sales eg. working with strategic partners.
- Must have a thorough understanding of, and experience with, server, storage and enterprise software. EMC product competency is a plus; advanced storage system experience is required.
- Candidate must demonstrate advanced knowledge in Network Operating Systems, networking, and server/storage consolidation principles. The candidate must be able to work independently, with strong written and oral communication skills, competent consultative selling skills, and good time management skills.
- Field-based & high level technical selling experience is preferred. Must be able to demonstrate a strong sense of business acumen and drive for enterprise sales closures.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Required to analyse all prospective customers computing requirements and present a suitable solution(s) in order to meet customer requirements.
- Provide design and support of complex hardware and software solutions and/or modifies/maintains complex existing applications
- Responsible for helping the sales team identifies and close advanced system specific sales opportunities while also developing and maintaining a relationship with the customer's network/server related technical/IS staff and decision makers
- Provide consultation on industry wide technologies, including server and network hardware, Client/server applications, network operating systems and enterprise management applications.
- Assists with the preparation of the technical solution needs for RFP(Request For Proposal)'s/Proposals.
- Conduct hands on Server/Storage Demonstrations
- Provide timely weekly business reports eg. funnel, forecast, activity report, etc
- Manage and work with both channel partners and key end customers,
REQUIREMENTS:
Set out the qualifications, experience and skills that are essential for the position
- Prefer a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/EE or equivalent, with a minimum of 5+ years experience in computer application or related field
- High degree of knowledge of client/server platforms, multi-platform networks hardware and software knowledge - Work Group Servers, Enterprise Servers,NAS, SAN.
- 8-12 years of relevant experience in selling to customers in the government segment preferred
- Strong knowledge of sales procedures, computer products and all potential application; be very familiar with Windows, Intel-based hardware and software;
- Superior written and oral communication skills, including high level presentation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and according to deadlines set.
