Title: AVP, Analytics Acceleration

Role Summary/Purpose:

- AVP, Analytics Acceleration role is a part of India Analytics Hub (IAH) within Growth function of Synchrony.

- The role will deliver high-visibility and high-impact projects, working in close collaboration with Synchrony IAH and US Analytics teams to help solve key business problems with solutions that are powered by data and analytics.

- This newly created role will lead a team of analytics/data science professionals working on a project delivery and consulting model and develop solutions focused on enabling Synchronys growth and profitability.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities:

- Lead analytics project engagements from scoping to delivery and solve business problems through basic to advanced analytics and data science streams, as applicable

- Develop customized analytics and data science solutions, catering to business objectives and priorities

- Work hands-on to drive insights from data, using analytic techniques with actionable recommendations to enable effective decision making and proactively exhibit thought leadership

- Develop POCs using advanced analytics, machine learning, data science tools, methods, and models

- Build strong relationships with US and IAH teams to communicate the value proposition of the team to drive engagements and business impact

- Acquire proficiency with different data tools, software, techniques to improve current capabilities and to create new analytics and data science solutions

- Deliver projects adhering to timelines, accuracy & compliance with meticulous project management

- Lead & manage development of team members, mentor them on analytical, technical, functional skills, and deliver on people management responsibilities including performance evaluation, coaching, etc.

- Drive internal initiatives, perform other duties and/or special projects, as assigned.

Qualifications / Requirements:

- Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or any other quantitative streams

- 7+ years of analytics/data science experience, preferably in Financial Services Industry

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on SAS/SQL programming experience

- Minimum 4 years of experience in leveraging data/analytics to drive strategy with positive outcomes

- Advanced skillset in Excel and PowerPoint

- Good working knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau, SAS VA, etc.

- Good applied statistical skills, including knowledge of statistical tests, distributions, regression, maximum likelihood estimators, etc.

- Proven ability to independently deliver analytical solutions for business problems

- Strong written/oral communication & stakeholder management skills

- Minimum 3 years of people management experience in an analytics function.

Desired Qualifications:

- Experience presenting to clients and senior leaders with strong communication skills

- Innovative mindset that looks to improve current capabilities and discover new ones

- Experience working with Python and R, preferably in a Linux-based cloud environment such as AWS

- Knowledge of ML methods like k-Nearest Neighbors, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.

- Knowledge of multivariable calculus and linear algebra with predictive performance or algorithm optimization techniques

- Understanding of macro-economic conditions
