Position Overview:

Instamart is seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Lead (City Manager - QHSE FnV) for Fruits and Vegetables to uphold and enhance the quality standards of our fresh produce offerings. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our customers receive the best-in-class fruits and vegetables, by overseeing all aspects of quality control, from sourcing to delivery, and will work closely with our suppliers and operations team to maintain and improve our quality standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Candidate will lead all work streams related to the below (but not limited to) for Instamart Fruits & Vegetables Category

- Work closely with stakeholders (Farmers, PODs, Warehouses etc) to ensure they meet the prescribed quality standards.

- Quality & Subject Matter Expertise - Warehouse, POD and Sourcing Units

- Audit compliance, regulatory Standards & Documentation Requirements

- Value Chain & Product Packaging.

- SOPs, best practices and training of the quality team.

- Ensure superior quality delivery leading to reduced customer complaints & improved NPS for the category

- Continuous improvement on specification adherence process and periodic revision of the same

- Develop and implement quality control processes and standards in-line with current trends in FnV quality for the procurement, storage, and distribution of FnV products.

- Champion a culture of quality and excellence throughout the organization, fostering awareness and commitment at all levels. Lead a team of quality assurance professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure consistent adherence to quality protocols.

- Supporting the farmers, suppliers, mandis & business teams by recommending improvements to product & packaging quality, packaging development, which will improve customer satisfaction & delight, as well as optimize commercials & ease of operations.

- Monitor and analyze data related to product quality, identifying trends, areas for improvement, and potential risks across the value chain. Conduct regular quality inspections, random audit of fruits and vegetables, both at the source and upon delivery, ensuring compliance with established standards.

- Leading the regulatory charter to ensure all own brand activities are in compliance with regulatory & local market requirements. Ensuring documentation is in line with national requirements to ensure regulatory compliance & best in class quality standards.

- Perform mystery shopping via the platform to monitor quality, handle customer complaints for FnV, lead detailed RCA & coordinate with cross-functional internal & external stakeholders to ensure resolution.

Qualifications:

- Degree in Food Science, Agriculture, or a related field. Master's degree / advanced degree is a plus.

- Proven experience of 8-12 years of experience in quality control in the fresh produce industry, managing quality teams, preferably in a quick commerce or grocery delivery context.

- In-depth knowledge of fruits and vegetables quality standards, grading systems, and best practices for freshness maintenance, relevant regulations and certifications for food safety and quality.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong analytical skills to interpret quality data, and make quick and informed decisions.

- Ability to work & lead with influence to find win-win solutions and co-own and achieve category goals

- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.

- Excellent communication (Written and Verbal), leadership, team management and collaboration capabilities with vendors, internal teams, and customers.

- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

- Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate challenges effectively.
