Logistic Business Head - Sales & Marketing, Operation

Requirements :

- Qualified Graduate/Post Graduate with more 15 years experience only in similar industry of handling Logistics.

- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills as well as able to speak and understand the local language or particular working area.

- Should be able to correspond and communicate with Principals and customers independently.

- Ability to work with stakeholders across levels.

- Strong accountability and ownership.

- Ability to work under tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities.

- Ability to achieve the monthly target.

Key Roles and Responsibilities :

- The head of logistics performs various functions, which primarily involves end-to-end Logistics, encompassing distribution operations and inbound/outbound transportation planning and management in support of the operations of an organization.

- They are responsible for building and leading the team that is responsible for last mile routing and delivery performance.

- The specific tasks, duties, and responsibility that majorly make up the job description of the head of logistics position will vary depending on the organization they work.

However, here are primary functions commonly assigned to the head of logistics role in most organizations :

- Responsible for building the strategic delivery model that will effectively cover the companys current and projected markets

- Collaborate with product team to drive system and operational improvements that will improve delivery efficiencies and result in lower cost per delivery goals in each market

- Responsible for putting together and leading third-party partnerships to augment internal logistics capacity to handle surges production capacity, sales, or demand

- Responsible for directing, training, and workforce management for the logistics department or organization

- Leverage on category management concept and industry analytics to source and secure Transportation and Warehousing Services, ensuring capacity to meet region requirements

- Guarantee that materials and semi-finished articles are supplied on time with the appropriate quality and in the accurate quantity to supported plants, or assure the prompt delivery of finished products to customers production/sales sites

- Responsible for the analysis of complex problem cases, as well as develop actions or recommendations to assure sustainable elimination and avoidance.

- Supply Chain Operations PTL, FTL & (3PL), DC Operations, Inventory Management, Order Management, Primary & Secondary Distribution, Last Mile Delivery, Internal & External Audits, Manage P&L, Manpower Management, C&F Agent, Fleet Management, Fleet Analyze and Cost Optimization, Strategic Planning & Vendors Development.

- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice logistics vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.

- Responsible for maintaining and enhancing profitability of the Pan India branch.

- Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services.

- Oversee distribution planning to meet territory wise primary sales basis demand forecasts, managing inventory level across value chain, contracting primary & secondary movements, controlling distribution costs & Finished goods inventories.

- Responsible to oversee annual budget for Supply Chain planning in line with Toplines business plan for the organization

- Develop strategies, policies, procedures, and overall team to optimize value of the entire SCM function.

- Identifying, negotiating and developing relationship with Logistics Partners which help the company effectively deliver the best customer experience in a cost effective manner.

- Direct the activities of all functions involved in the planning, warehousing and control of materials.

- Long-term capacity planning for warehousing and distribution.

- Strategize and plan for effective and timely execution of distribution of finished goods to meet On Time Order Fulfilment targets.

- Managing the end to end supply chain process including vendor management, procurement, planning, warehousing, logistics and distribution.

- Monitoring and forecasting demand and supply accurately, maintaining optimal inventory levels.

- Developing and implementing effective order processing and management systems.

- Identifying and analysing risks affecting supply, delivery and customer demand and developing strategies to mitigate these.

- Participating in strategic supply chain enhancements/ projects to drive optimal manufacturing efficiency and productivity.

- Conducting order reviews, processing orders and verifying data, obtaining customer confirmations and following up on deliveries.

- Handling customer order related queries & support, liaising with key internal stakeholders for quality/warehouse issues, processing return shipment as well as repair and replacement administration.

- Managing transportation budget and activities for inbound and outbound flows, and physical distribution network optimization and performance.

- Assessing, developing, and refining the overall planning, warehousing, distribution, and logistics skill set in the organization.

- Driving operational excellence and best practices to improve the supply chain process. The Successful Applicant To be a successful candidate, you should :

- Direct, optimize and coordinate FTL, PTL, 3 & 4PL full order cycle

- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers and consumers

- RL (Reverse Logistics) Management from Customers

- Liaison with Service Provider & Commercial regarding Bill Checking, Payments, refunds & reconciliation/COD reconciliation.

- Resolve Vendor grievances & claims against Vendors/Customers/Distributors

- Lead strategic initiatives to deliver on business KPIS

- Insure competitive pricing advantage over our competitors.

- Evaluating & assessing vendors on parameters relating to quality, cost & delivery.

WAREHOUSE & DISTRIBUTION :

- Define SLAs in consultation with the management and make efforts to control and maintain them.

- Oversee warehouse operations to exceed expectations for productivity, daily workflow, product availability and accuracy

- Oversee unloading, verification, counting, quality check, and recording for incoming vendor shipments

- Supervising stock Receiving, Put away processes and work on reducing timelines and improving efficiency.

- Maintain GRN reports, invoices management, Goods Received Documents Communicating with PO team for PO and other inwarding issues.

- Planning of space and storage requirements for incoming merchandise

- Keeping stock control systems up to date and making sure inventories are accurate at all times.

- Monitor and ensure that Barcoding, Labelling and Racking

- Process are as per process. Ensuring adequate on-hand stock levels are maintained in the Warehouse.

- Controlling inventory levels by organizing and conducting physical counts and reconciliations

- Reviewing all packing techniques and training the packing staff in packing techniques

- Plan and prioritize daily dispatches based on fill rate at store level.

- Monitoring the Outward Process which includes Billing and other documentation

- Return products to vendors within timelines specified.

- Ensure that there is no discrepancy in inventory received vs Outward.

- Actively suggesting new ideas to help improve workflow and accuracy of inventory

- Managing and maintaining all fulfillment operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing Program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.

- Daily MIS preparation and sharing with Management on the volume and nature of processed orders.

- Ensuring the effective utilization of warehouse area, equipment and other resources

- Resolving tech issues with relevant third party vendors to ensure smooth Warehouse Operations

- Building and maintaining healthy business relations with key vendors.

- Arriving at Optimum Specifications ensuring products are delivered as per specifications.

- Updated with latest market trends about 3PL & 4PL with warehouse management.

- Negotiation & payment handling, Purchase order further process.

- Managing the entire vendor relationship management process - from identifying new leads, setting up meetings, finalizing agreements to close deals.

- Gathering leads from different sources and adding new vendors to the shuttle platform

- Maintaining a strong relationship with vendors and working with them to add more vehicles

- Responsible for selecting and maintaining vehicles in order to keep deliveries and distributions on schedule and within its established budget.

- Vehicles Tracking, Configure, test GPS devices. Prepare configuration, testing reports in Excel. Route mapping. Ensure products, services are working, performing optimally. Handle backend operations, manage tracking system.

- Insurance renewal & maintenance of all the documentation related to transport management viz. RC, license, fitness etc.

- Driver Hiring & Police Verification & required training to be provided as per clients.

- Initial responsibilities to identifying and generating new contacts in logistic companies.

- Organising event and learning skills towards awareness into drives activities.

- Monitor and analyses vendor performance on an ongoing basis to ensure agreed SLAs and KPIs of the contract with clients are strictly implemented.

- Maintain contract database and protocol for ongoing vendors

- Manage Existing Vendor relation

- Building new vendor relation

- Ensure proper vendor data capturing (Price list and documents)

- Vendor Discount negotiation Vendor monthly reconciliation

- Vendor Admin Panel & events.

- Strategic Sourcing and Costing Modelling including Total Cost of Ownership for all Services Contracts, Special Projects (Pan-India).

- Overall Contract Management & Process Execution with New and Existing Vendors

VENDORS MANAGEMENT :

- Manage and mange external vendor relations within Operations Department.

- New Vendor sourcing & on-boarding. (On call / ETC / SCM)

- Vendor identification with the capability to most effectively meet business requirements

- Perform as functional bridge amongst external vendors as well as internal stakeholders.

- Coordinate all vendor management tasks inclusive of working with external vendors and internal employees.

- Ensure enterprise-wide needs for due diligence, risk assessment and continuing vendor monitoring are being accomplished.

- Help and coordinate vendor processes and methods to approve vendors.

- Ensure to track, measure, report and evaluate vendor performance.

- Troubleshoot all vendor problems and present to management as required.

- Identify improvement areas internally as well as perform closely with all internal stakeholders to prepare solutions.

- Identify and implement continuously enhance efficiencies associated with vendor management plus produce fulfilment.

- Participate to formulate workflow processes, methods and policies for applying vendors.

- Prepare processes for as well as manage analysis, selection and transition.

- Monitor contractual agreements for all functions vendors.

- Stimulate steady process enhancement to present increasing operational efficient.
