Supply chain Manager - Global MNC

Wonderful Opportunity for Manager Supply chain with a Global MNC, based out of Mumbai

Objectives of Role

- To manage execution of core processes for assigned product categories

- Responsible for all forecasting and buying activities for replenishment and seasonal products.

- To manage and report daily operational priorities to Off Shore Service Delivery Lead, On Shore Lead and retained client team

- To build, sustain and motivate a high performance team

- To maintain quality and service standards in support of the contracted Service Level Agreement

- To identify, recommend, and implement operational efficiencies / innovations to drive continuous improvement in the execution of processes

Main Accountabilities

Operational Responsibilities

- Manage team workload and reassignments with Supply Chain and Planning Leads

- Use and maintain demand planning software (JDA) as primary forecasting tool

- Maintain demand planning system and software

- Provide input to the offshore lead in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs

- Manage, plan and accountable warehouse inventory, service levels for assigned product categories

- Responsible for communicating service level performance to client.

- Commission root cause analysis to expedite the resolution of service issues

- Recommend and implement process changes to drive efficiencies

- Represent the team in supply chain performance meetings

- Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, and develop statistical forecast optimization models outside the JDA system to quickly improve the forecast accuracy of the products.

Value Creator Responsibilities

- Refine systems and methods to continually improve forecast to better anticipate the customer needs

- Apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting

- Develop high end statistical reports and co-relation data to improve the operational excellence for the deal

Partner Management Responsibilities

- Achieve consensus for operational demand forecasts by facilitating a collaborative planning process with category

- Manage Overall Vendor Engagement, Compliance and Management (Strategically in terms of Opportunity to collaborate, negotiations, etc)

- Manage Overall Vendor Compliance and Management (Tactically in terms of sharing forecasted demand, maintaining relationship, understanding stock availability, etc)

- Manage Overall Category Manager Compliance and Management (Strategically in terms of Sales, Gross Profit, Promotion/ Module planning, etc)

- Manage Overall Category Manager Compliance and Management (Tactically in terms of day to day operational activities etc)

- Review with SC leads/Analysts the Overall DC Compliance and Management (Tactically in terms of DC capacity, Appointment dates, DC shipments, other day to day activities etc)

- Review with SC leads/Analysts Overall TRANSPORT Compliance and Management (Tactically in terms of carrier availability, other day to day activities etc)

Performance Management Responsibilities

- Accountable for BU scorecard and report to cover strategic aspects, issues and initiatives

- Accountable for weekly service level summary indicating major impacts to service level for prior week.

- Accountable for status updates pertaining to business unit performance including Service Level projection (Expected Result)

- This position requires strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills.

- Strong interpersonal skills are essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of business affecting the forecast process. Good facilitation skills are required.

- Relationship management - build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues

- Verbal and written communication

- Inventory Management – experience in managing the trade-off between service level and inventory investment

- Supply Chain – knowledgeable in supply chain terminology and methodology

- Demand Planning and Forecasting – Demonstrate proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts

Technical Skills

- Core transaction system – Solid understanding of the core functionality required of systems to manage the flow of information through the supply chain (i.e. item/vendor management, forecasting, purchasing, inventory management..etc)

- Professional level capability in use of desktop software (MS Office Suite, with focus on analytical skills in Excel)

- Knowledge of SAP/APO, Manugistics, or Oracle Demand Planning or other software related to demand planning is preferred.

Other Expectations

- Strong analytical and problem solving mindset

- Out of box thinking

- Solid organizational skills with ability to balance multiple tasks simultaneously

Minimum: Any graduate/ Post graduate

Experience

- 12-14 years business experience with a focus on supply chain processes, especially in the Retail or Consumer Goods space
