Finance Controller - Franchise Retail Startup About SuperK We are re-imagining how Bharat's neighborhood retail, the unorganized Kirana stores of today will get transformed into organized convenience retail chains over the next decade - we are driving this change. SuperK is a well-funded early-stage startup that offers a full-stack solution to empower small format retail stores in Tier 2 and below towns. SuperK is rebranding existing small format retail stores and providing them with the benefits of procurement, tech systems, intelligence, and marketing at scale to create a chain of mini supermarkets. Some parallels can be drawn to how Oyo has transformed the small hotel industry, Medplus & Apollo have changed pharma retail and BigC & others have changed offline mobile buying. What you will be doing: - Develop appropriate processes to ensure relevant business stakeholders can process financial transactions after approval and also record those for reconciliation - Perform Ad hoc financial analysis across the organization and come up with initiatives to ensure data-driven decision making is made across all business initiatives - Maintain and publish reconciled monthly MIS with the board - Develop and implement monthly operating reporting for founders, investors, and the senior leadership to monitor financial performance, identify root causes of variance and provide recommendations for improvements - Liaise with external auditors to ensure timely and smooth closure of financials - Build and manage a finance team to ensure smooth financial operations across the various operational clusters - Build a robust bookkeeping system and asset management system to have a proper trail of all the capital assets and financial transactions - Manage Payroll and reimbursements disbursements of staff What we would like to see in you: - Bachelor/Master degree with Finance and Accounting majors, CA Final / CA Inter - 4-8 years of experience in accounting and/or financial modeling, preferably with a startup - Knowledge of preparing Balance Sheet / Cash flow and profit and loss accounts as per companies act - Knowledge of taxation such as GST, Income Tax, Financial reporting - Hands-on experience in handling accounts payable and accounts receivable - Exposure and knowledge of statutory and tax audits - Ability to manage a team with competing priorities and provide level-headed guidance during unexpected events - Proficient in MS Excel and Google Spreadsheets
