JOB DESCRIPTION – PRACTICE LEAD – BUSINESS HR CONSULTING

This is a broad role that involves end-to-end ownership of a Business HR Consulting practice of Stratum Consulting. You need to be an MBA with excellent understanding of Finance & Marketing (& hopefully, Technology). Understanding of how Human Beings function and what drives them is imperative. You also need to demonstrate deep understanding of various sectors such as Digital, E-commerce, Textiles, Retail, Auto, Tech, Banking etc. As surprising as it may seem, understanding of HR function is not necessary (although it is preferable). That is because we believe that most HR practices currently have very little integration with actual Business needs.

The role involves:

1. P&L RESPONSIBILITY

a. Responsible for P&L of the practice handled. Maintain 50% - 55% Net profit before tax for the business
handled

2. MARKET RESEARCH / IDENTIFYING POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS

a. Using your network to identify potential clients

b. Using online research to identify potential clients

c. Acquiring an in-depth understanding of the business & industry prior to the pitch.

3. PRE-SALES / SOLUTION DEVELOPMENT

a. Developing collateral / presentations for pitches

b. Developing Solutions for potential clients

c. Developing Solutions for acquiring add-on business from current clients

4. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT / PITCHING FOR BUSINESS

a. New Business Development – Pitching for acquiring new clients

b. Account Mining – Pitching for add-on business from current clients

5. INNOVATION

a. Navigate through a land for which there is not yet a map – come up with exciting concepts in technology, finance etc. to improve the Business HR work being done for clients

b. Figure out ways to execute the above concepts

c. Figure out ways to convince clients to implement the above concepts

6. PROJECT MANAGEMENT

a. Supervise all client-side activities by consultants to ensure on-time execution

b. Interface with clients to understand their short-term, medium-term & long-term priorities and draw up
Programs accordingly

7. ACCOUNT EXECUTION

a. Onboarding new clients during the first week

b. Executing activities that team members might not be experienced enough to execute

c. Executing activities incase of a bandwidth crunch

8. EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT

a. Identify Training Needs for consultants on an on-going basis to ensure constant skill development

b. Impart trainings to consultants on the basis of the above identified Training Needs

9. CULTURE BUILDING, EMPLOYER BRANDING, HIRING

a. Build an organization culture for Stratum Consulting that balances innovation, fun & serious work and gets the best out of its people

b. Build an Employer Brand for Stratum that encourages current employees to stay longer with the organization & attracts high potential talent to the organization

c. Constantly meet external high-potential talent and get them to come and work with the organization

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - 2-4 years Post-MBA

COMPENSATION - INR 7 Lacs per annum to INR 9 Lacs per annum + Incentives
