Strategy Associate - Startup - IIT/NIT/BITS

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

View on India and Global Fitness landscape (30%): Create a comprehensive view on market, competition and trends in the overall Fitness landscape

There will be three major parts to this bucket:

- An understanding of the demand-led Fitness market (India and Global) - key customer segments and needs, propensity to spend, demographic / geographic bifurcation, market size (total as well as for each segment), key requirements in terms of offering etc.

- Competitive intelligence and supply-side landscape - Key players in the market, offering and pricing, strengths and weaknesses. Understanding of value chain and supply-side stakeholders involved.

- This view on the Fitness landscape will be both quantitative as well as qualitative which will enable company to define the mid-to-long term strategy (as defined below).

- For Global markets, country-wide views to understand the depth and breadth of the fitness landscape will be the task.

Mid-to-Long term Strategy Definition (40%): Determine company's mid to long-term strategy across multiple functions such as Growth, Customer Experience, Profitability to ensure the company continues to evolve and remain competitive in the fitness and weight-loss landscape

- As part of this role, the Strategy Associate will take a view on the period of 3-6 months from the current date.

- Using multiple inputs such as company's business plan, understanding of company's processes, company's strengths and weaknesses (qualitative as well as quantitative) as well as the understanding of the India and Global Fitness market (as defined in Point a)

- The Strategy associate will define multiple things including new avenues of growth to pilot, breakage points in the customer experience, potential stresses on profitability and how to avoid the same etc.

- The Strategy Associate will also be expected to define potential solutions to the above problem company's future direction roadmap in-line with the above and detailed action charters for the execution team to pilot will be some of the deliverables of this project.

Business Growth (20%): Own 1 strategic, cross-functional project tasked to the Founder's Office which would result in growth of business revenue, cost improvement or improvement in employee productivity / efficiency

- Ownership of the project would involve high-level conceptualization of activities required to start the project, granular breakdown into tasks required for execution, setting up task owners and deadlines (including self as well as owners in other verticals).

- Ensure task completion either through self or owners in other verticals within a timely fashion.

Ad-hoc task delivery and analytics (10%): Support Founder's Office / other verticals in completion of ad-hoc tasks and analytics requirements as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

- B.Tech. in Engineering / Master's degree in Business Administration or a similar field from a reputed Tier-1 college

- 1-2 years of Experience in Consulting + 1-2 years of experience in Strategy roles in Startups (Early Stage preferred)

- Experience in Market Landscaping, Competition Benchmarking and Long-term strategy definition for Corporates / Startups

- Experience in planning and leading strategic initiatives

- Experience in building 0-1 projects from scratch including conducting large part of execution on own

- Experience in working directly with CEO / CXO-suite

- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Data Analytics in Excel / Google Sheets and any visualization software

- Experience in basic programming in one or more programming languages will be a plus (e.g., Python, R)
