- Our Client is a listed Indian company, in business since 40 years, with a focus on engineered products and services. Their business strategy was to identify technology gaps in India that the company could fill by 'indigenous efforts'.

- Their initial products selected and successfully developed were Aircraft batteries - eventually leading to worlds widest range of specialized batteries. Their expertise in batteries generated opportunities and ideas to diversify. The company moved into new businesses and markets that utilise our batteries, such as industrial electronics, defense electronics, and railway electronic signaling. Recent diversification, leveraging the companies engineering strengths, has led to new businesses in precision manufacturing, spun reinforced concrete and 'green' technology products.

Job Description:

- Co-ordinates with appropriate employee(s) of the organization to determine actual product and service needs

- Develops and implements appropriate strategies to ensure supplies at right quantity, right place, right quality, right price and right time

- Nurtures relationship with suppliers, as well identifies and develops new suppliers

- Works closely with relevant team to optimize inventory holding; develop alternate material and sources

- Explores new products and services to meet company goals

- Deploys appropriate procurement systems; analytics and MIS

- Builds team, monitors and measures the overall functional performance

- Identifies and embarks on cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities

- Budget management; continuous improvements through bench marking and score cards

- Possess skills of metal and capital goods procurement

- Reports to Chief Operating Officer

- Minimum experience of 10 Years in manufacturing industry
