Profile:

This is a senior leadership position that leads the company's design and engineering function that is completely responsible for all the specifications and technologies deployed in the products including the interfacing and integrating with other upstream and downstream systems were the products of the company are deployed. The candidate will direct all the processes that are requires to convert customer orders to products and oversee the lifecycle performance of the products and services. The candidate will foster the innovative and inventive spirit of the company and help build the brand image in technical and institutional circles.

Job Requirements:

Product Design and Development :

- Conceptualizing, designing and developing new products targeting "First time right", "Fit for use" and "Fit for cost"

- Evolve and maintain engineering standards to ensure compliance with target market requirements and creating differentiation in the products

- Ensuring competitiveness and branding by offering superior solution in terms of product performance, features and useful life.

- Leading technical reviews with Internal teams, Customer and Suppliers for critical projects in India and Overseas. Accurately capture customer requirements

- Continuous improvement initiatives to improve product features, product performance, reliability, aesthetics and cost competitiveness

- Review processes in D&E to ensure timely and accurate releases for manufacturing

- Coordinating with Quality, Application and Production and Field Service teams to resolve performance and quality problems

- Developing and maintaining robust systems for engineering standards, document control, and integration of the same to manufacturing systems.

- Develop and deploy Analytical methods in the design and engineering processes such as FEA, CFD, FMEA and to develop and deploy effective testing and validation methodologies.

- Overall validation of products at component, sub system and manufacturing levels

- Global Project Management, Concurrent Engineering

- Close coordination with Application to influence new products and systems

NPD and Business Development

- Scan external environment and develop road map for the company's products, ensuring that the company strengthens its ability to innovate and invent, thus create tomorrow's technology

- Work under the leadership of CKO to continuously innovate and launch cutting edge products and to protect the intellectual property of the company and innovations with effective patent filings

- Lead internal initiatives to develop product capabilities and innovative features that bridge market gaps and take the company's products and services to the next level

- Coordinate, review and direct the programs at all the development centers to keep the NPD targets on track.

- Develop the network of vendors, specialist partners, external research that bring in complementing technologies and lead programs to evaluate and integrate the same

- Effectively launch and deploy the fruits of innovation through the customer interfacing departments and participate closely in special projects and customer opportunities to bring new products, and innovations to the market.

Job Knowledge:

- Mechanical design calculations especially transmission systems involving gears, shafts, bearings, machine structural systems

- Hydraulics, Pneumatic's, Heat Transfer systems

- Analytical tools such as FEA, FMEA, 3D, Ansys, Matlab

- Electrical Motors & Drives, Instrumentation and sensors. Electrical wiring and paneling, Electro-mechanical control systems, HMI and Remote control and diagnostics systems

- Metallurgy, Material Science and Material Testing, Heat Treatment, Surface Treatments. Welding

Education And Experience:

- Degree in mechanical engineering from reputed university. Post-graduation preferred.

- 18-22 years- experience with significant duration in machine tools or precision engineering industries

- Hand on experience in Design Packages such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Pro-E, Solid Works, UG, Catia

- Familiarity with International standards such as CE and U/L, DIN, JIS etc.

- Experience in TQM, Lean or 6 Sigma
