Job Description :

- The Head of Balance Sheet and NII Analytics provides subject matter knowledge in the assigned area of Deposit analaytics, Funds Transfer Pricing across the firm's balance sheet and broader balance sheet analysis via Global Markets products and Treasury portfolio investment portfolio.


- The successful candidate must develop a thorough understanding of State Street's business practices to effectively perform independent, complex reporting or analytics to support the ad-hoc needs of the Balance Sheet COE and business unit Lead Financial Officers (LFOs). The candidate will be assigned to the Balance Sheet COE, working alongside in-market team members in performing a multitude of activities associated with the Balance Sheet reporting and analytics of the assigned business units (BU).

Responsibilities include but not limited to :

1. Manage a small team of resources dedicated to Balance Sheet and NII analytics, overseeing their training and integration into the Global Balance Sheet team in Boston

2. Completion of high quality deliverables within the committed timeframe. Deliverables vary by BU or Client focus but typically relate to :

- Business unit balance sheet reporting and analytics

- Analysis of profitability metrics such as Return on Capital (ROC) and Net Interest Margin (NIM)

- Understanding key business trends (e.g. areas of growth, monitoring deposit trends, FX trading)

- Analysis of capital deployment strategies such as stock repurchases, acquisitions, balance sheet expansion, business reinvestment, etc

- Analysis of business unit and client-level regulatory and other capital / liquidity metrics such as CET1, Supplementary Leverage Ratio, Tier 1 Leverage and Liquidity Coverage Ratio

- Self-review of reporting & analytics deliverables for first pass accuracy and presenting analytical results, findings as needed

- May be required to participate in or conduct a wide range of accounting and financial analyses on critical and complex issues which may include variance analysis, forecasts, budgeting, revenue drivers and accounting transactions

3. Serves as a subject matter expert on a particular financial management matter including Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP)

4. Understanding FTP calculation methodology and key impact drivers such as market interest rates, asset and liability duration and balance sheet activity

5. Timely and accurate reporting and variance analysis, including actual vs. budget, trends, prior period, and geography for review with finance business partners

6. Internal quality control checks related to monthly actual and forecast production process, including FTP rates, business unit and product profitability
