Basic Purpose of Job:

The Senior Associate will be responsible for supporting the activities within the analytics function. This individual will provide a high level of analytical experience with subject knowledge in Basel related areas. This individual will work on a portfolio of analytical projects, including Quantitative Impact Studies (QIS), peer analysis, variance analysis, and capital optimization efforts. Strong knowledge of capital management processes including Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Treasury, Accounting, and Capital is desired. The individual will report to the Team Lead of the analytics function and will produce accurate and timely analytical reports.

Responsibilities & Tasks Include:

- Perform analytics on large data sets to generate dashboards and value added complex reports to support business decision making

- Perform analytics utilizing granular data repositories via SQL extracts (e.g. unused commitments, low-risk assets, muni loans, top 20 counterparties)

- Perform data manipulation and aggregation using SQL and Excel reports to support completing QIS exercises. These regulatory QIS assess the impact of upcoming regulatory changes

- Support business units with capital and regulatory inputs to better align capital to their business decision making process, including providing technical expertise for new products and restructures of existing deals

- Assist business units with ad-hoc capital and RWA modeling and analysis to support business unit decision making

- Perform and explain quarterly variance analysis to evaluate changes in the bank's capital and risk-weighted assets

- Support capital optimization efforts through review and analysis of existing methodologies, complete monthly processes from legacy optimization efforts, and identify potential new optimization opportunities

- Perform peer analysis to evaluate State Street's current regulatory capital position with its local and international peers, including reviewing industry best practices, analyzing peers Pillar 3 disclosures, etc.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

- Bachelor's degree required, with an advanced degree in Business, Finance, or related field desired

- 6-8 years of relevant financial services and/or regulatory industry experience required

- Intermediate knowledge of Basel regulations required

- Intermediate knowledge of financial institutions and operations required

- Proven track record of successful project execution

Skills/ Knowledge:

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word, Visio)

- Proven ability to write, tune and execute complex SQL queries

- Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase a plus

- Knowledge of Moody's Risk Authority a plus

- Knowledge of Spotfire data analytics and visualization (or similar) a plus

- Strong Analytical skill set

- Financial product and institution knowledge

- Knowledge of Basel regulations including an understanding of risk management (e.g., credit, market, and operational risk) aspects

- Self-motivated, self-assured, and self-managed

- Results oriented ownership mindset

- Ability to analyze and summarize complex regulatory matters and their impact to the bank

- Ability to multi-task and work under high pressure deadlines

- Ability to reprioritize timely
