The successful candidate must:
- Develop solid knowledge of State Street's businesses to understand the key drivers of capital requirements and the implications of various regulatory capital treatments
- Collaborate with the team to implement Return on Capital framework enhancements and partner with business units to improve performance
- Liaise and build relationships with business units and corporate functions
- Conduct working sessions with business and functional representatives to gather relevant input data and validate analytical output
- Proactively identify opportunities to leverage ROC data in business decision making processes (e.g., budgeting, pricing, improvement planning, etc.)
- Develop and maintain knowledge of proposed changes to regulatory capital rules, the implications of those rules to State Street, and the timing of implementation
- Produce written analyses and commentary
- Produce slides, reports and documentation
- Communicate findings to direct manager
The successful candidate will partner with various other functions (e.g. Treasury, Corporate Strategy, Regulatory Capital). The team will also work closely with Business Unit Finance and other dedicated analytics teams within Finance (e.g. Revenue Analytics, Client Profitability and Centralized Reporting).
Qualifications
- Strong quantitative skills
- Excellent understanding of key financial statements, specifically a bank's balance sheet
- Understanding of regulatory bank capital rules (e.g., Basel, Fed, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge of complex financial products and businesses
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
