Functional Job Title : Finance CoE - Treasury Reporting, AVP

Reports to: Finance COE Manager, VP

Basic Purpose of Job :

- Global Treasury's mission is to manage the balance sheet of State Street while seeking to optimize net interest income (NII) within our risk appetite. Treasury Quantitative Analytics is responsible for in depth quantitative modeling that represents the complex interaction of global markets, customer behavior, and regulatory oversight in coordination with business partners across business units, Finance, and Treasury (including Asset/Liability Management (ALM), Global Liquidity Risk Management, and Capital Management). The Group supports key regulatory initiatives and requirements including, CCAR/DFAST, Recovery & Resolution Planning (RRP) and various liquidity regulatory requirements.

- The successful candidate is a team player who demonstrates self-confidence, intellectual credibility, exhibits the requisite finance, treasury, risk, and/or regulatory experience relevant to large complex financial institutions, and delivers clear, well-structured communications (including presentations, technical documents, etc.) appropriate to the particular audience, including regulators.

Responsibilities & Tasks Include :

- Work with businesses and source system data owners to procure, evaluate, structure and validate appropriate enterprise data for use in financial and risk models, regulatory reporting and other monitoring and surveillance activities

- Manage and manipulate large and complex data sets using advanced statistical tools such as SAS, R, and/or SQL and assist modelers in understanding and verifying accuracy of established data rules

- Implement Proof of Concepts for Monitoring/ Surveillance (via algorithms) rules from respective business lines with appropriate details

- Review results of data analysis with business stakeholders and recalibrating the analysis

- Write technical documentation, present and defend results to management and Model Validation

- Establish and optimize processes and procedures for managing and accessing large databases, and for repetitive or computationally intensive tasks

- Create data visualizations and interactive analytics portals that turn statistical and computational data analysis into digestible reports, enabling those who are- t professional data analysts to effectively interpret data

- The Balance Sheet and NIR Forecast and IRR Management teams are responsible for:

- Oversight of balance sheet data acquisition, integrity and reporting within the QRM application for purpose of balance sheet forecasting and IRR measurement

- Analyzing output and ensuring reasonability of results

- Ensuring timely preparation and delivery of ALM reporting including NIR backtesting

- Performing timely and accurate ad-hoc analyses

General:

- Work with teammates to analyze impacts to NIR forecasts and IRR metrics from different balance sheet strategies

- Follow procedures and maintain existing processes, but also think critically around forecast and IRR topics to build subject matter expertise

- Ensure timely and accurate reporting for balance sheet and NIR forecasts and IRR metrics

- Help establish priorities with other team members with appropriate deadlines and interim checkpoints

- Learn new concepts and become a subject matter expert on various balance sheet and ALM processes

- Apply knowledge/skills handling complex problems and/or coordinating work which may extend beyond own area of expertise; share expertise with colleagues and other departments

Skills/ Knowledge :

- Quantitative Risk Management (QRM) software experience preferred but not required

- Perform monthly surveillance of U.S. securitized portfolio holdings including asset-backed securities (ABS), commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS) and collateral loan obligations (CLO)

- Monitor security rating changes of U.S. securitized portfolio holdings

- Capital adequacy assessment reporting, particularly supplementary assistance with the team's key monthly presentation provided to senior management and regulators

- Strong quantitative aptitude/skills and experience modeling complex financial concepts

- Experience using software applications to define and solve complex business problems

- Knowledge of financial markets

- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Ability to communicate complex concepts to broad audiences

- Ability to multi-task, manage priorities, work independently while maintaining attention to detail and meet deadlines in a demanding and deadline-oriented environment

- Must possess strong communication skills with ability to participate in conference calls and contribute to presentation of financial results to financial and non-financial audiences at various levels of seniority

- Solid business knowledge as it relates to the financial services industry

- Financial product and institution knowledge
