CONTEXT: This position will be key to the Star sales and account leadership to drive revenue via actionable customer insights. He/she will be responsible for business research, account planning, and sales pitches. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide actionable insights to the sales team based on qualitative and quantitative customer research - Perform a variety of research and analysis such as advertising spend sizing, trend identification, opportunity scan, growth projection, industry, and corporate profiling - Track customer activities across the website, social media and industry events (e.g., new brand/product launches, changes in marketing organization), analyze key messaging and advertising campaigns - Research secondary data sources, analyst publications, and business information databases; present along with account level primary data; bring an external perspective to internal guidance - Prepare competitive analysis in advertisement - Regularly interface with sales and account leadership to update on emerging insights and developments - Lead internal opportunity and account review calls with sales teams and account executives - Track the key action items and mitigation plans discussed during opportunity review calls and follow-up with sales team on the same for their closures - Enable Star's market positioning within the advertising, media and research community as a subject matter expert PERFORMANCE MEASURES : - Timely, accurate identification and communication of new advertiser-specific intelligence on advertisers to sales and account teams - Regular disbursement of an industry trend, 360 customer views, latest developments across an organization - Ensure incorporation of intelligence in sales teams- plan QUALIFICATION: - Minimum qualification: MBA (Premier or Tier 1 management institute) -12+ years experience with market research, sales enablement, customer insights - Sectoral exposure in FMCG, Telecom, Consulting, BFSI will be highly valuable KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: - Experience in partnering with the sales team - Analytical skills and the ability to recognize the demands on the side of the clients - Acquainted with databases such as Gartner, Thomson, Euromonitor, etc. - Demonstrated outstanding communications skills (written, verbal and presentation skills) - Strong ability to act independently with sound business judgment - Good time-management skills and a flexible attitude, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and handle simultaneous work streams - Excellent organizational, execution and project management capabilities with keen attention to detail - Excellent leadership skills PERSONAL ATTRIBUTE: - Fast learner and adapter with demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced, time-sensitive business environment - Self-starter with a creative and inquiring mind and ability to drive forward with goals independently
