Sr Statistician/SAS Enterprise Miner

Senior statistician / SAS Enterprise Miner, Terdata, SQL /Exp 4 to 7yrs / Location - Bangalore

General requirements:

- The senior statistician will demonstrate 4-7 years experience of using a variety of statistical tools and techniques. The candidate should possess experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining predictive statistical models, also should have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to manage a small team of statistical analysts. Will be required to maintain own technical knowledge and liaise with the domain lead throughout the project lifecycle.

Roles and responsibilities:

- Developing descriptive and predictive analysis using modelling techniques such as regression and clustering

- Complete analytics requests mostly unsupervised; able to draft a project plan from an analytics brief defining what the objective/problem is and able to identify appropriate solution(s) and complete the task(s)

- Building models from start-to-finish (i.e. extract data,manipulate data, build model and validate model)

- Review effectiveness of models to determine readiness for business use

- Work with data team to understand the data availability and quality for analytic use, establish new data sources (with the DBA) where necessary

- Develop/maintain ongoing relationship with the domain lead

- Will be expected to deliver commentary alongside analytical output for the on-shore team/key stakeholder(s)

Technical/personal expertise:

- Experienced in building statistical models using SAS Enterprise Miner and using data mining tools such as Teradata SQL

- Understanding of data warehousing principles

Proficiency in using the data mining and statistical tools to conduct:

- Data manipulation to create modelling dataset

- Different modelling techniques including but not limited to regression, clustering, factor analysis, decision tree and survival analysis

- Experience in reporting analytic solutions, demonstrating good communication and presentation skills

- Must be detail oriented and committed to producing high quality results within strict deadlines

- Ability to performing work with minimal direction as well as within a collaborative group environment

- Proficient in using MS word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint
